After two weeks riding in Thailand leading a group it was time for some "Me time". How else than to take the beloved on a 3200 km one week ride through warm and welcoming oman. Riding through some great roads from Abu Dhabi to salalah and beyond towards the Yemeni border, the countryside opened up. Small fishing villages, tiny hidden beaches. I am surprised I didn't get this far earlier. Returning along the coastal route on the Salalah-Muscat Road is a "must do" on any riders list. Beautiful coastal riding on fine tarmac, fantastic camping opportunities and some of friendliest locals I have ever encountered. Just keep an eye out for stray camels and sundry cattle though.
This was, for me, a small introduction. Most certainly coming back for the entire coastal route, all 3000 kms of it.
