We have loads of families come and enjoy some very special locations that are perfect for kids and parents alike; from exploring the wildlife of the shallow saltwater pools of secluded Pinching Bay, to marveling at the century-old Andes Shipwreck from the boat, and enjoying Prickly Pear Island where mom and dad can kick back while the kids snorkel shallow reefs, swim in sheltered water, go "turtle-spotting" and visit a nesting bird sanctuary with Captain George.

"After having a right nightmare at the cruise terminal this morning realising I booked the wrong Stingray City for Cayman Islands (which I was looking very forward too!), we went to Dickinson’s Bay Beach to chill (although I was very gutted). I managed to come across CocoVibes online whilst looking for a snorkel tour.

Brittney and Captain George managed to accommodate us last minute for a 2 hour adventure around Antigua - which is BY FAR OUR BEST TRIP YET whilst cruising around the Caribbean from South Wales, UK!

Captain George was very knowledgeable, took us to swim with Turtles, see some starfishes and we even came across a stingray too! He even shared some facts about Chinese culture (which not even I knew about although I’m Chinese!😅). Captain George even took us to the shipwreck from 1905. At the end of the tour, Captain George dropped us back to the cruise terminal.

It’s been such a fun, adventurous day. Honestly, my words cannot describe how amazing today was and I can’t thank you both enough for it! We’ll definitely be back soon and book another tour with you guys.

🇦🇬 Women in Antigua and Barbuda gained the right to vote in 1967, which was a significant milestone in the fight for gender equality in the country. This was a major step toward giving women a voice in political and social matters.

🇦🇬 It was in 1985 that women were granted equal access to land ownership in Antigua & Barbuda.

🇦🇬 In 1994, Baldwin Spencer appointed Dr. Errol Cort, Antigua and Barbuda’s first female cabinet minister. This highlighted the growing representation of women in leadership roles within the country.

Today, we honor women across the Caribbean and the world who continue to sail towards equality and empowerment.

Meet Tripneustes ventricosus, aka the West Indian sea egg! With its smooth, white spines, it blends seamlessly into coral environments. Found in shallow waters across the Caribbean, it plays a key role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by grazing on algae. Every day is the perfect day to head up to Prickly Pear Island 🤩

Did you know that there are 127 shipwrecks around Antigua?

The most well-known is the Andes Shipwreck, settled in 30ft of water at the entrance to Deep Bay. It's story is enthralling and has a happy ending - no one was killed in the fire that ended the journey for the three-masted merchant ship.

It has become an artificial reef and a truly unique spot to snorkel, filled with a variety of coral species, fish, and other marine life.

"George picked my husband and me up on the beach at our resort in Antigua and we set off. George is full of island knowledge and so entertaining. We saw some of the largest sea turtles I’ve ever seen. Snorkeling at a reef. He will take you wherever you’d like to go. An amazing experience."

"We had an amazing trip with Captain George. He was very friendly, relaxed but also hilarious which made the trip really enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about Antigua which made it a really interesting tour for us. During our trip we went to a shipwreck where we could snorkel (all equipment provided by George) and he stopped off at a completely deserted beach, it was lovely to have the whole place to ourselves.

We got drinks and fruit included and pickup and drop off were really easy, right at the port in Antigua.

The booking process, done through George’s wife Brittney, was flawless. She was lovely and explained throughly all details of your booking.

If we come back to Antigua we will definitely do this trip again. This boat trip was one of the main reasons Antigua was the favourite island we visited on our cruise.

The entrance to English Harbour is guarded on one side by these impressive sandstone formations known as the Pillars of Hercules. Formed over thousands of years by the wind, sea and rain, they're possible to visit by foot from Galleon Bay but best seen by boat. You can often spot sea turtles, stingrays, eagle rays, octopus, squid, and many fish amongst the corals growing in the depths in front of it, making it a popular spot for snorkelers and divers. Also located at this site is an 18th century anchor, as well as a coral nursery programme that began in 2021. So, where does the name come from? To be honest, we aren't totally sure of the exact origin story of how this site was named. However, looking at the mythology of the original Pillars of Hercules at the Straight of Gibraltar, we can imagine why this epic formation in Antigua was named so! "In Greek mythology the Pillars indicated the limit of the known world: “grasping the Pillars” was a metaphor for reaching the ultimate in human achievement. For mere mortals, they marked the end of the journey, the point at which one must turn back. Herakles’ journey beyond the Pillars, during his Tenth Labor, came to represent a heroic and unending quest for knowledge, and the Pillars became not a point of retreat, but a gateway to the unknown." This secluded paradise on one of Antigua's beautiful offshore islands is special for SO many reasons. Not only is it home to many species of land and marine life (such as the upside down jellyfish in the video), it is also surrounded by vital mangroves and is an important nesting bird habitat. Sadly, it won't be like this much longer. A neighboring luxury resort has purchased the land to build more megamansions, which will undoubtedly displace and disrupt the fragile ecosystems in and around the island.
