One day, architect Rafael Israelyan was crossing the road leading to Garni. He noticed from the car that a wonderful view opens to Mount Ararat from the hill of Voghjaberd village. The architect got out of the car, climbed the hill and decided to build an arch there 😮
From here the biblical mountain Ararat is visible at all hours of the day 🗻

Geghard is one of the most important monastic complexes in Armenia ⛪️
Geghard meaning "the Monastery of the Spear", originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus at the Crucifixion, allegedly brought to Armenia by Apostle Jude, called here Thaddeus, and stored amongst many other relics. Now it is displayed in the Echmiadzin treasury 😮
