📍 This artwork was made by the argentinian artist León Ferrari (1920-2013) and is a sound sculpture thought and created by the artist as an artifact to draw sounds and create musical, visual and tactile facts.
You can find it in the Parque de la Memoria (Memory Park)
This spot is part of the Never Again Tour.
This tour will give you some clues about the genocide that devastated the country during the 1970s, taking the lives of close to 30,000 people.

📍 Esta obra de arte fue realizada por el artista argentino León Ferrari (1920-2013) y es una escultura sonora pensada por el artista como un artefacto para dibujar sonidos y crear hechos musicales, visuales y táctiles.

➡ The Recoleta Cemetery is located in the exclusive Recoleta neighborhood and considered the third in importance in the world.
It is one of the most visited attractions in the city, due to its large number of mausoleums and vaults, many of them belonging to the main protagonists of Argentine history, such as Eva Perón (Evita) whose tomb is the busiest of all.
Many of these vaults and mausoleums are artworks created by important architects, decorated with marble and sculptures; more than 90 vaults have been designated as National Historic Monuments.
The Recoleta cemetery was built in 1822 as the first public cemetery in the city and its layout was designed by the French engineer Próspero Catelin.
Among the personalities buried there, we can find political leaders, presidents, well known writers, Nobel Prize winners, athletes and businessmen.
A visit to the Recoleta Cemetery is included in our Walking Tour “Norte Porteño” and the classical Half Day City Tour and Full Day City Tour.

➡ El Cementerio de la Recoleta está ubicado en el exclusivo barrio de la Recoleta y es considerado el tercer cementerio en importancia del mundo.
Es además una de las atracciones principales de la ciudad, por su gran número de mausoleos y bóvedas pertenecientes a muchos de los principales protagonistas de la historia argentina, como la de Eva Perón (Evita), una de las tumbas más concurridas.

🚣🏻‍♀️🚣🏻‍♂️ Paddling in the River Delta (Tigre) Tour includes a visit to Tigre and its surroundings outside Buenos Aires City.
Tigre neighborhood is situated in the Delta of Parana River, formed by the confluence of the Paraná and the Uruguay rivers, just 30 km from Buenos Aires and considered one of the largest deltas in the World. On your way, enjoy sightseeing of the Northern districts of the city, the famous Rio de la Plata, and make a stop in San Isidro, a former colonial town where the wealthiest porteños used to have their weekend homes.
Once in Tigre, adventure will start. Paddle for around two hours, in stable Canadian canoes, along the different rivers that form this delta, through narrow channels of lush vegetation, to see these secret natural gardens and the daily life of islanders in their picturesque homes, built on palafitos. Stop for lunch or a typical Argentinian picada (at your choice) at some nice spot in the islands and return to town.

El municipio de Tigre está situado en el excepcional delta que se forma por la confluencia de los ríos Paraná y Uruguay, a sólo 30 km de Buenos Aires, considerado como uno de los deltas más grandes del mundo. 🌳 Martínez neighborhood is located in San Isidro district, 22 kilometers North of Buenos Aires City.
One of the most attractive spots is the coast of the “Río de la Plata”, a place to enjoy nature in public spaces, walk by the old “fishermans pier of Pacheco" (built in 1930 with a privileged view of the City of Buenos Aires and the River Plate) practice water sports and enjoy excellent gastronomic options.
It is a highly recommended stroll!

🌳 Martínez es una localidad situada en el partido de San Isidro (zona norte del Gran Buenos Aires, a 22 kilómetros de la ciudad.
Uno de los puntos de mayor interés es su costa sobre el Río de la Plata donde se puede disfrutar de la naturaleza y el aire libre en los espacios públicos a orillas del río, caminar por el antiguo muelle de pescadores de Pacheco (construido en 1930 y desde donde se puede ver y disfrutar de una vista privilegiada de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y del Río de la Plata), practicar deportes náuticos y disfrutar de una excelente gastronomía.
Es un paseo muy recomendable!

Este verano se cumplieron 20 años desde que me inicié como guía de turismo. En ese entonces ya había publicado algunos libros y me dedicaba casi exclusivamente a la literatura. Desde entonces alterno mi escritura con el trabajo de guía. Como dije alguna vez en mi cuenta personal de IG, “es un trabajo que disfruto, que me conecta con el mundo de otra manera, me saca de la silla de escritorio y me lanza a la calle, a viajar a través de la gente y sus historias, y a redescubrir mi entorno, ese espacio conocido que es Buenos Aires, con los ojos de quienes la ven por primera vez”.
Y en ese camino sigo, ¡gracias por acompañarme! 💜

Last summer it was 20 years since I started as a tour guide. At that time I had already published some books and dedicated myself almost exclusively to my writings. Since then I´ve alternated my profession as a writer and journalist with my role as a guide. This is a job I enjoy, that connects me with the world in a different way, it takes me out of my desk chair and throws me out into the street, to travel through people and their stories, and to rediscover my surroundings, those well-known places in my native town, Buenos Aires, through the eyes of those who see it for the first time”.

Los Kiwis están en mi lista de mis viajeros favoritos; en su mayoría tranquilos, alegres ¡y grandes caminadores!

Good memories of my walks through San Telmo with “Kiwies”, (nickname for New Zealanders).
Kiwies are generally great hikers, easy going and happy people. On my list of favorite visitors!

🐴🌳 Tour Día de campo en el corazón de las Pampas
Viajá al tradicional pueblo de San Antonio de Areco, (a sólo una hora y cuarto de la capital) conocido no sólo por sus tranquilas calles y hermosas casas coloniales sino por ser la cuna de la tradición y un sitio de orfebrería por excelencia. Visitá el taller de Chavo Stagnaro, uno de sus más reconocidos orfebres, conocé su casa y su trabajo en plena acción. Luego, pasá el día en una hermosa estancia histórica pero aún activa, cercana al pueblo, donde disfrutaras de un sabroso asado de campo, show de danza y música folklórica en vivo, demostración de doma india, cabalgatas, paseos en sulky o bici, caminatas, y si el clima lo permite, podrás nadar en la piscina en medio de la naturaleza. Al atardecer, luego del mate y los tradicionales “pastelitos”, regresamos a la ciudad.

🐴🌳 A day in the Pampas Tour
Start your day driving North to the traditional town of San Antonio de Areco (just one hour and a half away from the city), well-known for its quiet streets and beautiful colonial houses but also for being the most important center of silverwork in the country. Visit Chavo Stagnaro´s workshop, one of the most famous silversmiths in town, who will show you his house and his work. Then, spend a relaxing full day at a beautiful, historical but yet active ranch nearby, where you will enjoy a tasty “asado” (barbecue), horseback riding, sulky (carriage) rides, intimate folk shows with live music and dancers, demonstrations of “Doma india” (traditional Argentine horse whispering) or “tropilla” (herd of horses), hiking, cycling and bird watching, or swimming, if the weather allows you. In the afternoon, after drinking some “mate” with traditional “pastelitos” (typical pastry of Argentina) we return downtown.

🏡 San Isidro es uno de los barrios más pintorescos de la zona norte del Gran Buenos Aires. Es conocido por sus calles adoquinadas, sus casas de estilo colonial y su pronunciada barranca que da origen a lo que conocemos como El Bajo de San Isidro desde donde se llega a las orillas del legendario río de la Plata; zona de restaurantes y clubes de deportes náuticos con hermosas vistas.
El casco histórico incluye la Catedral, la Quinta Los Ombúes (Museo, Biblioteca y Archivo Histórico Municipal) y el Museo Brigadier General Juan Martín de Pueyrredon. El núcleo de ese casco es la plaza Mitre. Frente a la plaza se encuentra la manzana más antigua, donde se ubican la sede del gobierno municipal, el Concejo Deliberante, el chalet Las Brisas (contemporáneo de la Catedral), y la casa del primer presidente municipal Fernando Alfaro Maciel, hoy museo. Linda también con la plaza la Catedral de San Isidro.
La visita a San Isidro forma parte del Tour Colonial y Aristocrático.

🏡 San Isidro is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods of the Northern outskirts of Buenos Aires city. It's known for its cobbled streets, its colonial-style houses and its pronounced ravine that gives rise to what we know as “El Bajo de San Isidro” (San Isidro lowlands), where you reach the shores of the legendary Río de la Plata; area of restaurants and water sports clubs with beautiful views.
The historic center includes the Cathedral, the “Quinta Los Ombúes" (Municipal Museum, Library and Historical Archive) and the Brigadier General Juan Martín de Pueyrredon Museum. Opposite the main square(called Plaza Mitre) you will find the oldest houses, the townhall, and some other important public buildings such as “Las Brisas chalet” (contemporary of the Cathedral) and the house of the first major Fernando Alfaro Maciel which was turned into a museum. The Main Cathedral also borders the square.
The visit to San Isidro is part of the Colonial and Aristocratic Tour.

If you want to see a tango show in Buenos Aires and you are not sure which to choose, follow my advice, go to El Querandí. There are plenty of options in the city, but there are few I really like, and Querandi is one of them. It is intimate, it is cozy, the service and the show are excellent as well as the location, an emblematic corner of San Telmo District. It was founded like a bar in 1920 on a big rambling house of 1867. The show is quite unique; dancers changing dresses with different styles of dance travel through the history of tango, from its origin to the present. Dinner is “a la carte''. Try “Lomo al malbec”, my favorite! Si estás pensando en ver un show de tango en Buenos Aires y no te decidís por cuál, te sugiero El Querandí. Hay muchísimas opciones en la ciudad pero son pocos los lugares que realmente me gustan; éste es uno de ellos. Es íntimo, acogedor, el servicio y el show son excelentes al igual que la ubicación, en un emblemático rincón de San Telmo. Fundado como bar en 1920 en un caserón de 1867, fue restaurado en 1992 y desde entonces todas las noches ofrece un espectáculo de tango muy particular por sus características; los bailarines recorren, con diferentes estilos de baile y vestimenta, toda la historia del tango desde sus orígenes hasta el presente. La comida es a la carta.
