Though our season is in full swing, there’s still time to experience unforgettable Patagonian fly fishing this February. Recent cooler nights have kept trout actively feeding, and our guides continue to zero in on the best local hatches. Expect impressive dry-fly action throughout the day, with some added excitement when larger browns switch to streamers in low-light conditions.

Spring is almost here, and we’re hard at work getting everything ready for another exceptional season —- The PRG lodges are being meticulously prepared to welcome you. We’ve upgraded accommodations to provide even more comfort, stocked up on the latest gear, and scouted the best fishing spots to ensure an unforgettable experience.

For those visiting Tres Valles Lodge, expect an angling experience that goes beyond the usual. While most fly fishers seek the thrill of casting in moving waters, Patagonia offers a unique twist. At Tres Valles, you’ll have access to not only pristine rivers and creeks but also some of South America’s finest stillwater fishing. The estancia provides entry to the Río Las Pampas, Lago Vilches, and Arroyo Negro. Here, you’ll have the chance to catch stunning rainbows, browns, and some of the world’s largest brook trout—averaging 14-22 inches in creeks and rivers, and up to a remarkable 30 inches in the lakes.

Each lodge offers unique access to Patagonia’s diverse waters—from the secluded spring creeks of Rio Pico to the iconic freestone rivers near Trevelin. Whether you’re wading through clear streams or drifting along scenic rivers, expect a fishing adventure like no other.

Our guides are sharpening their skills, preparing to share the secrets of Patagonia’s rivers with you. With new equipment and expanded access to private waters, we’re set to offer you the best fly-fishing experience in Argentina. Get ready to explore stunning landscapes, encounter abundant trout, and enjoy world-class hospitality.

Our Story

Experience the best of Patagonia fly fishing with Patagonia River Guides (PRG). Guests of Patagonia River Guides have the opportunity to enjoy the most comprehensive fly fishing programs from over ten diverse lodging choices across the three most productive regions of Patagonia, Argentina – Esquel, Rio Pico and San Martin de los Andes. Every trip is customized according to the anglers’ needs and desires, and trips as short as three days or as long as three weeks are easily executed. The Patagonia River Guides experience is a unique blend of inspiring waters, varied fishing, beautiful scenery, interesting culture, lasting friendships and unrivaled service, complemented by gourmet and regional cuisine, delicious wines and first-class accommodations. There are few places in the world where you can enjoy the diversity and quality of fishing offered in Patagonia, but careful planning and ex*****on are critical to getting the most out of your fly fishing trip. At PRG, our philosophy to fishing is straightforward: fish the best rivers, at the best times, with the best guides. On any given day, PRG’s guests could find themselves wading small freestone streams or spring creeks, floating bigger rivers from comfortable rafts or drift boats, stalking fish and sight fishing in gin-clear water or even spending a day in search of fish over ten pounds on our area still waters. Fish size and numbers depend on the type of water and the angler’s skill level, but we are confident that the quality, diversity and unparalleled beauty of our fisheries will not disappoint. Since we have so many options, extended stays are recommended in order to see and experience as much as possible in one, two or all three of our distinct regions.
