Esta foto fue tomada por Andrea, un viajero Italiano que decidió viajar de todas formas, aunque, antes de comenzar el viaje, su empresa había decidido desvincularlo.⁣
Quise compartir la historia porque creo que explorar es también preguntarnos de dónde venimos y decidir qué hacer hacia adelante. Es tomar responsabilidad de nuestros caminos, a pesar de las circunstancias adversas.⁣
Este 9 de julio los argentinos celebramos la decisión de ser independientes. En 1816, un día como hoy, comenzaba este largo proceso. Hoy es una buena oportunidad para decidir qué hacer con esto que nos toca. Independencia es libertad y responsabilidad de las consecuencias de la misma.⁣
Sin excusas. Sin poner afuera. Y quizás de una vez, podamos cambiar el rumbo.⁣
Ojalá está crisis nos haga mejores. Nos encuentre conciliando con quiénes no piensan igual. Construyendo.⁣

Every 25 of may, we celebrate the beginning of the journey to our independence. At the open cabildo that entire week, the intellectuals and merchants of Buenos Aires gathered to discuss the future of the colony after they've received the new about Fernando the 7th (Spain 👑) had gotten prisoner by Napoleon Bonaparte (1810)
⁣.
At the original cabildo( 1st pic) they decided to form a committee and self-administrate the Virreinato del Rio de La Plata. There were some committees already in Sevilla and Cadiz. But "The Criollos" were empowered by former battles, when they overcome
the British invasions (1806/1807).⁣ And they didn't want anybody but the King leading their future. And their trade. Don't forget that mercantilism system wasn't very convinient for our merchants.

Our City Hall changed several times. The other pics show the current version of the original one wich is shorter, as three of arches had to be removed in order to make space for May avenue⁣, at the beginning of the XX century. Golden times for Argentina 🇦🇷, but that's a different story.

We were doing some research to find out how many trees are needed to absorb our CO2 emissions? Did you know only 55% human beings produce might be absorbed by the ecosystem? Yes, the rest becomes Global Warming.
Now the earth is healing and our planet seems to be the winner 🥇 with our social distance. Isn't that ironic?
There's a chance that we'll re-think how we transform capitalism into a more sustainable development system? Let's make this time worthy, reflecting how we avoid another world crisis🙏

Hubo un tiempo antes del COVID-19, cuando todo era sobre la mejor forma de recorrer BA, en e-bikes! De repente el mundo se detuvo y nos enviaron a casa. A relajar, reflexionar y a agradecer. Apreciamos mucho el amor y la confianza de nuestros colegas y viajeros. A todos los que nos ayudaron desde el principio💚💚💚
Pronto imaginaremos viajar, luego que esto pase. Pero no sera igual. Espero. Ojalá y nuestro viajero del futuro elija descubrir mas conscientemente, y busque alternativas más amables con el medio ambiente. Quizás sea sólo un sueño. Cómo sueñan ustedes los viajes del futuro? Creen que esta ⏸ nos dará una oportunidad para repensar nuestros viajes futuros?

There was a time before COVID-19 when we were bike touring this beautiful city . But, suddenly the world stopped and sent us home. To relax, reflect and be more grateful. Be more conscious.We appreciate so much the love and trust of all our amazing colleagues and travelers💚💚💚 To all the that held us at the very beginning.
We will soon imagining traveling a post COVID-19 world.
