With such a picture of the imposing Koschuta in the Karawanken at sunset, we look positively into the weekend. 🤗 What's on your plan?

The 14 km long mountain range of the Koschuta is located on the border with Slovenia from our Carinthia, Austria. ⛰️ Also on the border and very close to the Koschuta is the mountaineering village of Zell/Sele. Ever heard of it? 🤔 Maybe because in 2015 it was voted Carinthia's state winner in the ORF TV show "9 Treasures - 9 Places". 🏆

How about a trip to the mountains on the weekend? In our 💚-Styria there are many beautiful hiking opportunities, as well as up to the Eisenerzer Reichensteinhütte.

The Reichensteinhütte is located at 2,128 m near the Eisenerzer Reichenstein summit. At the top, a beautiful view of the Erzberg, the Dachstein, the Gesäuse to the Semmering awaits you. 🥾⛰️

Ever heard of the "most beautiful mountain meadow in Carinthia"? Experience the nature of Carinthia during a short hike from the Meerauge, which has a distinctive turquoise color due to algae, to the Märchenwiese, probably the most beautiful mountain meadow with a view of the Wertatscha mountain of the Karawanken.

The Meerauge and the fairy tale meadow are only about 40 minutes by car from the city of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, which makes a day trip there worthwhile.

"The direct way to the freedom of the mountains" doesn't that sound dreamlike? 😍 The Postalm in Salzburg has a lot to offer and is therefore also a great destination in Austria for us. 📌

The highlights are the many beautiful hiking trails on the Postalm and also the varied panoramic road with breathtaking views is a must-see for us. 🌟

📍 Fallbach Wasserfall
In the Maltatal in Carinthia is the highest waterfall of Carinthia. It is the Fallbach waterfall with a height of 220m.

The special thing about the waterfall is not only its height, but also that you can get to within a few meters of the waterfall on the Fallbach via ferrata. Isn't that cool?

📍 View of Lake Achensee
To experience this view in real, you have to go up the mountain. 😍 Did you know that the largest lake in Tyrol, the Achensee is also called the Tyrolean Fjord from this perspective?

First you go with an approx. 3h long hike from the Achensee up to the Karwendel mountains. Or you can take the Karwendel mountain railroad from Pertisau and only climb the last steep part on foot. ⛰️🚠
Now you've already made it! At the Bärenkopf viewpoint (1,991m), you can now enjoy the view in real life. Now you just have to master the descent.

🥾 Moderately difficult hike (especially the last part is steep, but it pays off).

A natural jewel in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut is the beautiful Almsee. Trips there pay off just for the picturesque nature and mountain landscapes, or what do you think? 🥰

To enjoy the lake and the surrounding landscapes from different sides, an approx. 1.5 hour long circular trail leads around the Almsee on a route of 6km. 👫

📍 Kitzlochklamm
One of the most beautiful and impressive gorges in our alpine region is certainly the Kitzlochklamm near Taxenbach in Salzburger Land. The Rauris Ark plunges meter by meter through the narrow rocky slopes down into the Salzach Valley. 💦🌿

A hike of just under 1.5 hours takes you over bridges and footbridges through the gorge. The highlight for many visitors is also the viewing platform "Klamm Auge", where you can look several meters into the depths at the rushing water. 😍

According to our research, you can visit the Kitzlochklamm from May to October.
PS: your dogs are also welcome at the destination ;) 🐶

Along the lake to Traunkirchen 🚗 If you are traveling in the province of Upper Austria, plan a short detour to Traunkirchen, which is located near Gmunden. 📌

Once in Traunkirchen, you can discover it in about 1 to 2 hours. 🚶‍♂️ Stroll through the alleys of the village, up to the Johannesberg Chapel and then get a cooling on hot days at the lake view of the fourth largest Austrian lake - the Traunsee. 💦 *bathing is allowed

When the weather is nice, you have a fantastic view of the Traunstein (1,691m) opposite from the lake view. ⛰️☀️

📍 Myrafälle
We can only highly recommend a trip to the Myra Falls. You can find the Myrafälle in Muggendorf in the beautiful province of Lower Austria. 👍

One of the highlights of the hike through the Myra Falls are the numerous bridges, wooden walkways and stairs, which allow you to view the water from many angles and you can also take home a photo or two. 📸

Especially for families we recommend this destination in the spring, because it will be an unforgettable day for your children in nature due to the almost 2.36 km long route and a duration of only about 1.5 hours at an easy level of difficulty with many breaks possibilities. 👨‍👩‍👦

A day trip from Salzburg to Golling to the is always worth it! 😍

On the hike through the forest landscape you will first reach the Gollinger Mill. Then it's on to the popular photo motif of the lower stage of the waterfall with 25 m and further to the upper stage of the Gollinger waterfall with 75 m. 💦

Watch out! Have you ever heard or read about the Gesäuse National Park in our Styria? 🤔 The Gesäuse covers a huge area with beautiful landscapes, wild water, huts and a large animal and plant kingdom - a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts. 🌿

Steep cliffs can also be found in the landscape of the Gesäuse, as in the shot with the view of the Admont Reichenstein. ⛰️ ... ever heard of it?

The Admonter Reichenstein has an altitude of a whole 2,251 m and is a mountain in the Ennstal Alps. 🧗

Known for the Bregenz Festival. Staying in Bregenz near Lake Bodensee in Vorarlberg planned? Find out our 1-day sightseeing tour recommendation here; 📝😍

In the morning we start with the approx. 1h long Entdecker Rundweg tour in Bregenz. (1) We start in the old town. (2) First we go up to the upper town, where the path leads along the medieval walls past the Bregenz landmark, the Martinsturm. (3) Once at the top, we briefly enjoy the view over Lake Bodensee and the city of Bregenz. (4) On the way back through Kirchstraße we pass the smallest house in Europe. Really fascinating! 📸

In the afternoon we continue with the Pfänderbahn to the Bregenzer Berg (1.062m). ⛰️ At the Pfänder, the Alpine Game Park, beautiful circular hiking trails and a top view await you.

In the evening, we recommend a short walk along the lake promenade of Lake Bodensee with the setting sun and an ice cream in your hand. 🍦⛵

Hach Salzburg, you count for us among the most beautiful cities in Austria! 😍 Our insider tip for a wonderful evening walk in Salzburg is the ascent via the Imbergstiege (261 steps) up to the Kapuzinerberg. 🤫👫

At the top you can enjoy a beautiful view over the old town of Salzburg. Already on the ascent you pass by the Imbergkirche, or also as St. Johannes Kirchlein from the recording.

📍 Bodensee in Nassfeld.. you have read correctly. This is not the second largest lake in Austria in Vorarlberg, but a natural jewel in our Carinthia 😉 Are you on the way to Nassfeld? ... then be sure to plan a short stop at Lake Constance. 🌿💧

If we take it exactly, there are actually two mountain lakes at Nassfeld, one behind the other, the large (front) and the small (rear) Bodensee. They do convince by their deep blue coloring in the middle of the spruce forest right next to the Nassfeld road. 😍

📍 Mill at the Gollinger Waterfall
Another popular destination in Salzburg is the Gollinger Waterfall with its mill. More precisely, the Gollinger waterfall is also called Schwarzbachfall, or Schwarzenbachfall. Already known? 🤔 The fall height of the water is about 100 m and comes directly from the Schwarzbachfall height (also called Gollinger waterfall height). 🏞️

When is the best time to visit the Gollinger Waterfall? According to our research, actually always 😉 The official opening hours are from May to October. In the other months, the ticket office is closed, but access should still be possible at your own risk. ⚠️ Watch out!!! ⚠️
We recommend you visit the waterfall in spring, or in summer, because then there is also enough water flowing for some great photos, which are also worth seeing. 📸
