Happy Friday COF,
Today I just wanted to share an email we got from one of our fabulous Farmers! And do we really need any more proof that this is the right way to go?! We LOVE that COF keeps money in our Farmer's pockets. Some of the friendships we see made, between farmers and travellers, are also so beautiful 😍

I'm just sharing today an interesting post by one of our most awesome and clever travelers! a lot of interesting information on here for you to have a look at! Just shows how much a difference COF can make when you make the most of your membership like these guys have 😍

🚨 BUDGET REVIEW

We're often asked how much it costs to travel Australia full-time, so here's a breakdown of our first six months fuel and accommodation costs (1st July to 31st December):

Caravan Parks - 59 nights - $2,743.35 - Average $46.50/night

Caravan Overnight Farmstay - 43 nights - $755.00 - Average $17.56/night

Government Sites* - 38 nights - $981.21 - Average $25.82/night

Other** - 4 nights - $85.00 - Average $21.25/night

Roadhouses - 1 night - $30.30

Free Camping - 39 nights

* State and local government-run campgrounds
** Donation and privately owned campgrounds

184 nights
Total Cost $4,594.86
Average Cost $24.97/night

⛽ Fuel $6,570.49 (remembering there are still 11 days left to go!)

That brings us to a total cost of $11,165.35 - equivalent to just over $429 a week.

I won't include other costs - groceries, alcohol, insurances etc. - as they'll be individual to each traveller, but, as you can see, it soon adds up!

Our plan for 2025 is to increase the number of nights of free and low cost camping, and take our time - no more 5-week dashes across the Nullarbor and back! 😂

The lack of solar and batteries is a limiting factor with our current van (I need my aircon in the heat!), but the new van will allow us to be off-grid more often and for longer - bring it on! 👍😎
