WHEN is a good time to travel to Byron Bay and surrounds?? 🤔 🧳Here are some of our tips and things to consider ⬇️

✔️We believe that one of the best times to visit Byron Bay & surrounds is April. While Byron Bay is a popular destination to visit all year round, April is the ideal time to go due to a number of factors such as the climate, cost of travel and accommodation, as well as avoiding peak holiday periods.
✔️ The warmest month of the year in Byron Bay and surrounds is January, where the average temperature gets to around 26℃, but temperatures can reach as high as 28℃ on the hottest days in summer. The coldest it usually gets in winter-time in Byron Bay is around 12℃.
✔️ The days are longest in Northern NSW in November, so if you want to see the sights during the day when the sun is up for the longest time, it’s best to visit around that time of year.

"Do I have to walk in a group?" ➡️ No. You are free to walk at your own pace, however your guide will suggest meeting points to stop to ensure you are getting the full benefit of your guide & his knowledge. Keep in mind that the walk between Lennox Head & Byron Bay is only guided for small sections - so plenty of time to walk on your own and at your own pace on those legs.

" Do I have to walk the whole way?" ➡️ Absolutely not! You may choose to walk only 1 of the days, and join several of our local “experiences” on other days. It’s your holiday - the choice is yours.

FUN FACTS ABOUT LENNOX HEAD 🤔

The headland (also known as Lennox Point) was created in the Cenozoic Era as part of one of the lava flows from the Tweed Volcano, a Shield Volcano, centred on what is now Mt Warning. The basaltic lava spread south and east from the volcano in a succession of flows which covered to varying depths an older landform uplifted from the ocean bed in the Mesozoic Era.

During our walking tours, we visit the headland, which is also a great spot to watch the dolphins surfing and the annual whale migration. The Pat Morton lookout (at the headland) offers spectacular views of the village and of Seven Mile Beach extending up towards Broken Head.

Another fun fact about Lennox Head is that, Byron Bay Coastal Walks is owned and operated by a Lennox Head local, Penny. So, we might be biased but its home for us and we think its pretty spectacular.

🧺 Here are our top 3 spots for your sunset picnic:

BROKEN HEAD: If Main Beach in Byron Bay is too crowded for you then we recommend heading south to discover the magic of these almost untouched beaches! If you walk along the two sisters track you will come across the large grassy headland where it feels like you are watching the sunset from on top of the world.

COSY CORNER– Tucked under the southern side of Cape Byron, at the northern end of Tallow beach, is Cosy Corner.
It is a peaceful, secluded and protected beach for your sunset festivities.

MAIN BEACH: If you're looking for a fun and lively atmosphere with music, entertainment and fire twirling, then we recommend you head down to Main Beach!

What will I need to carry when walking?

ANSWER: We suggest a day pack with waist traps. It should be large enough to contain your water bottle (you have several options to refill during the walk). You may pack snacks, however we do not allow any packaging so please ensure food is n**e and in suitable containers. We also suggest swimmers and towel, binoculars, camera, band-aids and of course plenty of sunscreen. Walking poles are a personal choice but are not essential. They will aid with balance on certain sections of the walk. Retractable poles are great if you have them!
