Our cruises commence with a welcome tea or coffee, after which we travel out into the sheltered shallows of Port Phillip Bay to embark on an exciting once in a lifetime adventure.

Arriving at Chinaman’s Hat where you can put your newfound skills into action, this is a local spot where the ever-curious Australian Fur Seals are waiting to share their underwater world with you. Chinaman’s Hat is a man made structure built just for the Seals! Offering shallow water snorkelling and beautiful white sand seabed, this area has a maximum depth of 4mts.

Once the dolphins are located we ready into groups of 10 people and prepare to enter the water, floating on the waters surface your guides will try to entice the dolphins to spend time with our group, where they swim beneath you and often circle swimmers looking at you and showing off their amazing abilities. Every swim is unique and the time we spend with the dolphins varies. It must be appreciated that they are completely wild and the interactions are on the animals’ terms. We advise you to understand there are not guarantees or refunds, if we do not see dolphins on your tour you are welcome to come back for free within 30 days.

Revel in the stunning views of the Mornington Peninsula coastline before enjoying the dip of a lifetime! Swim in the sheltered shallow waters with these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. The Australian Fur Seal is one of our most popular and loved animal encounters.

We head out to the shallow waters of the Chinaman’s Hat, a purpose-built platform where over 100 local resident seals are sleeping in the sun. Moonraker cruises into the shallow clear waters and surrounding the boat are friendly, playful and inquisitive juvenile seals.

See giant smooth Rays glide beneath you on the sandy seabed, whilst Seals dart back and forth, eager to swim and dive with you. There is so much beautiful marine life to observe.

Our Sea Kayak Fundamentals Course is designed for novice paddlers who want a skill set and knowledge before they go out by themselves. This course is fun in its own right and can be tailored to suit paddlers with different experience levels. All our courses are run at Balnarring Beach.

This one day course packs a punch and you will definitely be challenged. The course include 2 hours of sea kayak hire that can be used anytime after the course.

This is a spectacular way to experience the sights of Melbourne from a unique, water-level perspective. Melbourne’s Yarra River is an excellent location for new paddlers to experience evening kayaking for the first time, or for experienced kayakers to enjoy a stunning paddle through Melbourne’s scenic waterways. No kayaking experience is needed to enjoy the tour, as our patient guides will be with you every step of the way. We use a fleet of fibreglass Sea Bear sea kayaks, which are extremely stable and easy to operate.

Our night tours in Melbourne meet just before sunset in Victoria Harbour, part of the modern Docklands precinct in the west end of the city. After a short safety briefing and paddling technique session on dry land, we set off for an exploration of the sights in Victoria Harbour before tying up to a dock in a beautiful marina. The guests stay seated in the boats and are served fish ‘n’ chips for a very special, on-the-water dining experience.

After our meal, we continue our tour upstream, under the Bolte Bridge and through to Melbourne’s lively downtown. Kayaking past the Crown Casino and alongside stylish Southbank, we time the tour to coincide with the dramatic fire-ball display. We continue past Flinders Street Railway Station and beneath historic Princes Bridge before arriving at the approach to Melbourne’s sporting precinct.

Our Melbourne night tour ends at the boat landing area at the Rowing Sheds, right in the heart of Melbourne, and directly across the river from Federation Square. What an incredible way to experience Melbourne!

Our Balnarring Bay Kayak Tour is a great way to kick off a big night but the tour itself stands alone as a great reason to make a trip into Balnarring.

Balnarring is a special place and Balnarring Beach is its essence. Offering uninterrupted views across to Phillip Island and home to Bottle Nose Dolphins, it really is the perfect place to try sea kayaking for the first time.
We start our journey from Balnarring and, depending on weather conditions, we will either go to east towards Somers or south west towards Merricks. Enjoy a fruit platter and a glass of champagne before paddling back to the start point at Balnarring Beach. NO experience is necessary, and Rob will be with you every step of the way. We use a fleet of Dagger Trinidad’s and we have found they offer a very stable platform for new paddlers.
Starting just before sunset and finishing on sunset , it’s a great way for inexperienced and experienced paddlers alike to explore Westernport Bay.

Phil Trigger is a local surfing legend, and the TRIGGER Bros brand is synonymous with surfing on the Mornington Peninsula. Phil has been surfing since the ’60s and there is not much this man doesn’t know about shaping boards and surfing, having opened his first shop (with brother Paul) in 1973.

Today, they spend most of their time at the Point Leo store and they still surf regularly.

Saturdays and Sundays can be lazy days on the Peninsula. Sleep-ins and big breakfasts are the norm but why not combine the best cafes on the Peninsula with cycling?

We can meet you at either Somers Cafe in Somers or The Village People Café in Balnarring and you can take the bike path to Balnarring or Somers. Its an easy 40 min ride each way and it’s the perfect way to shake the cob webs off on your weekend.

You can ride back to your start point or drop the bikes off at your destination- the choice is yours. Give MPA a call and we can be at either destination usually with 20 minutes.

The ride skirts Coolart and it possible to drop in and check out the grand old homestead and surrounds, before dropping down to sea level and into Somers. Ride through the beautiful Foreshore Reserve at Somers before grabbing a coffee at the café!

Join us as we take you on a tour of the hinterland around Coolart. This bushwalking tour starts at the western end of the park and takes you along winding tracks and through coastal hinterland to the grand old homestead. Take a stroll through the grounds around the homestead before heading into the homestead itself. Your knowledgeable guide can answer any questions you have as you explore this glorious piece of Melbourne history. Not long after Melbourne was founded, Coolart was leased to cattleman and graziers. In 1895, a successful Melbourne businessman , Frederick Sheppard Grimwade, bought Coolart and started planning to build the homestead which still stands proudly today.

Now, Coolart is owned by Parks Victoria and extensive work has been done over the years, thanks mainly to the Luxton family who owned Coolart from 1937 to 1977 to make it a bird watchers paradise. In 1977, the Victorian State Government bought 87 acres around the homestead and sold the rest of the land off to private buyers.

Today, Coolart is an oasis, a beautiful park and a haven for wildlife including over 125 species of birds. You might catch a glimpse of the many Wallabies and Koalas that live in the park too.

This a walk is a great introduction to the best of the Peninsulas bushland.

Relax amongst the eucalypts of Greens Bush and explore the surrounding area of Baldrys Crossing.

Follow the trail past Main Creek and watch out for mobs of Eastern Grey Kangaroos as you meander through peaceful eucalypt and grasstree woodlands. Nearly 700 species of indigenous plants have been recorded on the Mornington Peninsula with the iconic Austral Grass Tree (Xanthorrhoea australis) being one. The Boon Wurrung, or Bunerong, are an Aboriginal people of the Kulin Nation and they used the copious amounts of nectar harvested from the numerous flowers in the flower stalk. Seeds were crushed to make flour while the flower spikes were used to make spears.

Other flora seen on this walk include Manna Gums, which are the preferred habitat of Koalas.

We start this walk late in the afternoon because it’s the best time to see Kangaroos.

The Bushrangers Bay walk is an iconic Peninsula walk and one of the best day walks close to Melbourne.

Bushrangers Bay was named after two escaped Convicts from Van Diemen’s Land (Henry Bradley and Patrick O’Connor) who came ashore in 1853. The bay was as spectacular then as it is now, with its basalt cliffs, sandy beach and crashing waves. The walk follows Main Creek down through shady Banksia groves, where it is hard to not see one of the Eastern Grey Kangaroos from one of the biggest mobs within 90 minutes of Melbourne.

It’s a relatively short walk down to the coastline, with its spectacular ocean views and majestic waves crashing into jagged rocks, guarding the entrance to Bushrangers Bay. We time all our walks so having a swim in one of the exposed rockpools at low tide is a possibility. We enjoy a light lunch before returning to the starting point via the same route.

You knowledgeable guide will let you know about the history of the area, flora and fauna.
