When I was in Egypt with Uniworld Boutique River Cruises recently I sailed on the S.S. Sphinx and was lucky to spend some time on her sister ship the River Tosca. She’s a beauty! Lead by Mr Ibrahim (my new best friend) who runs a tight ship! Here are some photos.

A huge thanks to Julie (an amazing agent) who brought her clients who said ‘that was so exciting that even I am sold!’ A massive shout out to my dream team BDMs who put their heart and soul into these Aperitivo events - I am so impressed and proud. One thing to know when you visit Egypt is that you can sleep when you get home! There’s just so much to see and do on Uniworld’s Splendours of Egypt and the Nile that it’s worth the early alarm to avoid the crowds and the midday heat. We have now flown from Cairo to Luxor and embarked on our 7 night cruise. The ship is gorgeous - but more on that to come. We’re now in a smaller town north of Luxor called Dendera. The temples at Dendera are among the most significant historic sites in all of Egypt dating back to 1800BC and were completely mind blowing. The day was made so much more interesting with Saleh our Egyptologist on hand to explain the significance and to share the stories and to answer my 100 questions! I’m off to bed with an early alarm set for tomorrow’s adventures.

Today was an incredible day with an early start at the Pyramids of Giza. My Uniworld Egyptologist and guide, Saleh, doubled as my influencer and photographer! Not only is he great company, he spent four years studying to unlock all the secrets of Egypt and has an amazing gift of bringing the complex history to life through storytelling. It’s Egyptian Easter or Sham El-Nassim this weekend so a very special time to be in a very special place.

I am chasing my travel dreams in northern Africa and have arrived in my new favourite city - Cairo! 🐪🇪🇬 So far the people are friendly and smiley (and very funny), the food is fresh and delicious, and the history is beyond my wildest dreams. There is so much to do here and I’m excited to explore. Follow along on my journey.

Our latest Super Ship, the S.S. Victoria embarks on her first cruise tomorrow. This ship brings a contemporary atmosphere to Uniworld’s fleet, along with a host of luxury amenities—from an indoor pool to a rooftop bar. Meet Piet who will be Cruise Manager on the S.S. Victoria for her maiden sailings. Piet tells us … “I was very much impressed with the space that there is on the S.S. Victoria. The rooms are big, and the fantastic glass ceiling in the bar is something that I love a lot! We’ve spent an inspirational week with our colleagues and friends that become more like family every year. I don’t know any other cruise line that starts the season this way.
