On a Sunny Sunday in Sydney - explored the wonderful Australian Maritime Museum, I love everything to do with the Ocean and loved getting on board the Onslow, one of our Australian Navy’s retired subs, the Valerie Taylor exhibition pays homage to the great Lady and campaigner for the sea, the other current exhibition of over 100 of the best Ocean photographs from 2023. - stunning! Well worth a visit when you are next in Darling Harbour 🌊 🛶 🦈

A final dinner in Chania, a wonderful local restaurant recommended by our Guide from Athens, in a village side street full of another 20 or more restaurant’s we hadn’t as yet discovered. On “Greek” time today - breakfast at noon that became a 3 hour lunch in the beautiful autumn sunshine on the Venetian Harbour, followed by an afternoon at the beach, alternatively swimming, dozing, reading - oh and the obligatory octopus 🐙 or 2 🐙

Wednesday morning market stalls take over the centre of St Remy - a riot of colour, smells, tastes and sights - the Provençal velvet attack on the senses blissfully continues - 🫒 🧀 🦪.

Treated ourselves to a post Rugby respite at the gorgeous in St Remy de Provence. The Michelin starred V restaurant twinkles at night at the heart of the Resort - could not resist the chefs degustation - service and food sublime - the cheese offer, absolutely the best I have ever seen and tasted 🧀

Fascinating but eerie visit to the asylum of St Paul de Mausole just outside St Remy de Provence where Vincent Van Gogh spent just over 1 year at the age of 36 - through his life he battled mental illness and bouts of mania and depression and fits. His tiny bedroom here is extraordinarily where he produced many of his most famous masterpieces. After his release he returned to northern France to be with his brother Theo but sadly one day took a small gun when he went to paint in the fields and was dead at the age of 36. The irony is he sold only 1 piece of art in his living days - now his work 200 years later is some of the most sought out and expensive for art collections

Collingwood runs deep in the Beasley blood - my Grandpa George Beasley was a three times Grand Final player in the 1920’s - just coming up for 100 years ago. My dad George Junior also played for Collingwood in the 50’s and my brother and cousins boys have all been fantastic players (and all round sportsman). Today my beautiful daughter pays respect to our long history as avid supporters of the Magpies - thinking of my beautiful Nana Mignonne Beasley and Dad who will be cheering loud from heaven today 🖤 🤍 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
