Today we welcome Joanna to our team, joining Sarah, Rosemarie, Isabella & Colin. She started her first day of career in the travel industry today after finishing studying in June. Lisa has started her maternity leave and will be away from the office for up to 12 months giving us space to expand our team.

The state governments – NSW, Victoria, QLD and WA – have now agreed there is no longer a need for the protocols. We wait news from our Queensland government as to when this no longer applies for Brisbane cruises.

CLIA can now confirm that NSW has lifted their cruise specific Covid protocols. This move comes in line with the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee's (AHPPC) decision reported last week, and aligns Australia with other countries, bringing clarity and consistency for cruise passengers.

Joel Katz, CLIA Managing Director in Australasia said the NSW Premier Chris Minns had written to CLIA over the weekend confirming the move, and that other states were expected to make similar adjustments in line with the AHPPC announcement.

The NSW Premier highlighted the importance of restoring normalcy. “We have scrapped these rules because they aren’t needed any more,” he said. “Cruise companies have been looking after their guests and workers and we encourage them to continue that.”

NSW Tourism Minister John Graham echoed the sentiment, stating that the upcoming cruise season is on track to be one of the strongest on record and it is fantastic even more people can now participate.

NSW Health Minister said, ““I am confident that the cruise industry will continue to prioritise the health and safety of passengers, crew, and the broader community.”
