Announced on Friday evening, the Business Awards Gala Dinner was a celebration of outstanding Brisbane companies and business leaders.

LORD MAYOR’S BUSINESS AWARDS | Finalist

Place Design Group’s Founding Partner and Executive Chair, Shaun Munday, is a finalist in the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards, Business Person of the Year. With more than 30 years’ experience in planning and property, Shaun has led numerous significant projects, including the 1.5ha Waterfront Brisbane precinct on Eagle Street.

The prestigious awards, now in their 19th year, recognise Brisbane’s businesses and entrepreneurs that are shaping the city, driving innovation, and making an impact in the community. The Business Person of the Year award recognises an individual who has significantly contributed to Brisbane’s business community through an unrelenting pursuit of excellence in business.

ACACIA | A hidden oasis at Aura's latest precinct

A thriving coastal community and network of villages, 90km from Brisbane and situated on the Southern point of the Sunshine Coast. Stockland's Aura is master planned as the new world-class precinct with the highest standards in sustainable community creation, delivering more than 20,000 new homes and encompassing over 700 hectares of conservation area and 200km of pedestrian walkways and cycleways.

In collaboration with Stockland, Place Design Group was engaged to develop the design for Acacia (Precinct 15) of the Aura Development. An inspired location that extends 2040 residential lots over 8 stages, the precinct of Acacia incorporates three local parklands along the southern interface, a future sports park, play zones, green open spaces, landscaped gardens and surrounded by Bells Creek conservation area. Streetscape design is underway for Stages one to five.

We are excited to announce the latest additions to our design team. With continued investment in creating great spaces for communities, designing places that balance the needs of their environment, culture and every changing pressures is crucial. We are proud to continue our contribution to this effort through our team including our newly appointed designers, (Associate Landscape Architect), and Ken Xu, (Senior Landscape Architect). Both carry with them extensive international experience and passion for creating innovative designs. Their contribution will continue our team evolution as we look to enhance Sydney's built environment for years to come.

Benjamin, is a designer with over 15 years of experience. His approach integrates knowledge from urban hydrology, art, and landscape architecture. As a landscape architect, he is fascinated by the interplays between city and nature, between the garden and geography, small scale and large scale, between art, imagination and the tangible outcomes that all these elements create for our open spaces. Benjamin will be vital in our continued involvement delivering great places for our clients.

Ken has recently made the move to Sydney after many years working in China and will bring his design leadership, built though his breadth of experience across all stages and project typologies, combined with a global perspective on design and innovation he will bring this experience to Place Design Group and push our design excellence across all our projects and within the team!

We are thrilled to have them part of the team and can’t wait to watch them make their mark at Place Design Group and with our valued clients!

It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the talented architects Bureau Proberts. This Riverfront St Lucia proposed development has been a labour of love over the last 12mths. The development seeks to deliver high end residential apartment living with uninterrupted river and city views. The development will establish 10 expansive apartments across 4 storeys integrating in into the riverine setting of St Lucia. We are delighted to be providing town planning and landscape architectural services for one of Brisbane’s finest new inner-city developments, and look forward to facilitating the development approval on behalf of our valued clients and the landowner.

Our team are excited to see the release of the Pippita Rail Trail Masterplan for consultation. The 2.4km walking and cycling connection from Lidcombe Train Station to Sydney Olympic Park, prioritises the growing and changing needs of . The trail will provide new outdoor spaces, separated and shared cycling and walking paths, and places for social connection and local history discover. Community are invited to explore and share their thoughts on this transformation of the former Abattoir Branch railway line. Cumberland City Council Transport for NSW
