Did you know that areas where currents and tides merge on a coral reef create a natural “pressure point” that’s teeming with life? These high-flow zones are truly incredible:

💧 Fast-Moving Water brings a constant supply of nutrients, making it the perfect feeding ground for schools of fish.
🐟 Marine Life Galore: Fish gather in these spots to feed on plankton carried in by the currents.
🪸 Boosted Coral Health: The flow removes sediment and oxygenates the water, helping corals thrive.
🌿 Unique Biodiversity: Only well-adapted species can handle the fast pace, creating a vibrant ecosystem.

28, December 2024 Briggs Reef - Wild Side

With light winds from the north east and very minimal tidal movement we were able to pull off a special drift snorkel from one side to another spanning about 300m.

Jellyfish - at least a million

What an Incredible Day on the Reef! 🌊☀️

Today’s conditions were absolutely perfect for a drift snorkel from one site to another on the wild side of Briggs Reef! 🐠💙 Our 32 passengers had an unforgettable time exploring the reef, and the crew had just as much fun guiding the way.

It’s always a treat to experience the diversity and beauty of both snorkel sites in one amazing afternoon!

Words can’t quite capture the magic of today.

The Notorious 9—what a story! From nothing to something in just 48 hours. How incredible that they stumbled upon a brand-new, unreviewed boat and decided to take a chance on us.

We’re more than a business; we’re people. People who are incredibly passionate about what we do! Allan, Taryn, Perry, Michelle, Byron, Nicole, Laura—individuals who poured months into turning a spark of an idea into reality. Hours spent imagining, brainstorming, strategizing, scrapping plans, and starting over, sometimes more times than we could count. Piece by piece, we created something meaningful, something deeply personal—a reflection of us wrapped in pink and blue, living in photos, videos, briefings, manuals, and digital footprints. Always moving forward. Together.

This day wasn’t just ours, though. It was built by a community of support—artists, builders, tinkerers, boiler makers, and so many incredible people and businesses in Cairns. A huge thanks to Ocean Free & Freedom, Passions of Paradise, Ben Lewis, BME, Deckstore, Whitworths, Enviromart, Bunnings, Cardzilla, Lotsa, Bang Media, Commonwealth Bank, Reward Hospitality, Norship, Expressway Signs, Shirtbox, Triple M, Realised Technology, Respax, Mercury, Ports North, Coffee Buoy, Reef Authority, Master Reef Guides, TTNQ, TEQ,AMPTO, and everyone that I missed who helped make today happen.
