Is there anything better on a cold winter morning than a hot chocolate made by your guide on a gas cooker in the bush after a few hours looking for lions? #hotchocolate #okavangodelta #moremi #tawana #africansafari #botswanasafari #familyfun #familysafari #kidsonsafari @naturalselectiontravel @earthhourandy @soloridley
The pure indulgence of Jack’s Camp in the Makgadigadi Pans National Park… from the Persian rugs that hug the floors of the gigantic rooms to the private plunge pools with gently swaying swing beds under the palm trees, this is a desert oasis unlike any other we’ve seen. Built in 1940s style, the main area hosts a museum of fossils, ancient hunter gatherer tools and animal skulls to keep one intrigued for hours when not exploring the great outdoors of this stunning wilderness area with your local guide. #jackscamp #makgadigadi #kalahari #botswanasafari #luxury @naturalselectiontravel
The amazing new Tawana Camp by @naturalselectiontravel is one in a million. Located in a private concession in the wildlife rich Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, the lodge offers the roomiest and most luxurious experience we’ve had in Africa. They’ve thought of everything, from the private plunge pools and well stocked coffee bar to the well appointed gym with its magnificent views of the lagoon with its resident hippos and red lechwes. We love how they built the lodge around the termite mounds and trees to ensure nothing in nature was disturbed. #exquisite #africansafari #luxurysafari #luxury #okavangodelta #botswanasafari #moremi #modern #beautifuldestinations #nature #bucketlist #sustainabletravel
Thank you for your wonderful review of Tammie’s latest group safari in Botswana, Janet! We loved having you and your giant photographic lens! “From my perfectly matched roomie to the ideal group size, the epic experiences and community feel within the group. The selection of camps, the guides and staff at each of the camps were amazing. Every detail was well considered, right down to bush-babies to keep us warm. I have never experienced so many ‘joy explosions’” Janet, Cairns, Australia #africansafari #botswanasafari #adventure #grouptour #okavangodelta #elephant #lion #wilddogs @naturalselectiontravel @tammiematson
Botswana is one of the best places in Africa to see large herds of elephants. With roughly a quarter of Africa’s elephants, places like the Okavango Delta are key to the species survival. The continued conservation of this World Heritage area and all its animals depends on tourists visiting and contributing to the wildlife economy. Every safari you book with us at Matson & Ridley Safaris and our partners is a direct contribution to conservation. #makeadifference #conscioustravel #botswanasafari #okavangodelta #adventure #elephant #naturelovers @naturalselectiontravel
Experiencing Botswana by traditional dugout canoe (mokoro) the way local fishermen do in the Okavango Delta is one of those absolutely unique things everyone should do while on safari. It’s a bit like meditation as your local mokoro guide poles you along the slowly flowing water channels, looking for reef frogs and kingfishers. Sometimes you might even get visited by animals much bigger than that, coming to the water for an afternoon drink. Exhilarating! @naturalselectiontravel #africansafari elephants #botswanasafari #okavangodelta #sablealleycamp #khwaiprivatereserve #mokoro @tammiematson @soloridley @earthhourandy

The Makgadigadi Pans National Park is a worthwhile addition to a Botswana safari, with the opportunity to witness the spectacle of hundreds of zebras migrating to the Boteti River in the winter months. The elephants are in the room, quite literally walking through the camp at @sablealleybotswana by @naturalselectiontravel - amazing to be in the company of relaxed herds of elephants at Khwai Private Reserve, Botswana #okavangodelta #botswanasafari #elephant #heavenonearth #africandream
When life is too much of a rush, watching elephants drinking is a sure fire way to enable yourself to slow down and breathe it all in. Giant slurps, water sprays and hollow bellies gurgling as they fill are the soundtrack for moments like these. Reconnect to nature on an African safari and find your centre. #hyenapan #elephants #botswanasafari @naturalselectiontravel #wildlife #africansafari

Sometimes on safari you drive out of camp at dawn and as you wipe the sleep out of your eyes you find lions literally just around the corner from your cosy tent. There are only around 20,000 lions left in the wild in Africa, and every sighting is such a thrill. In this video you can hear baboons and red-billed spur fowls alarm calling as the lions pass by. Filmed on Tammie’s group safari in Khwai Private Reserve, Botswana last week.
