An hour and a half from Guilin is Yangshuo. A gem of a small town surrounded by stunning volcanic hills. There’s lots of adventurous things to do here but the river was flooding so we enjoyed learning about tea ceremonies.

On our last morning in Beijing we visited the impressive Temple of Heaven complex. Six times larger than the Forbidden City but most is green space. We also had fun d**g a tai chi class but luckily there is no photographic evidence to share!

A cracking day yesterday!!
We visited the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall where you can take a chair lift or gondola up to the wall and slide back down.
After returning to Beijing we took the metro to Shichahai, an area full of interesting Hutongs (laneways) and a lakefront full of bars and restaurants. Very busy on a Saturday night!

Today, we spent the afternoon strolling around Fenjing Water Town which is 60km out of Shanghai and after nightfall joined the masses on The Bund to see Shanghai put on a show.
Another fabulous day of contrasts.

On my final day in WA I traveled from Margaret River to the Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley.
On arrival we savoured some exquisite bush tucker flavours and learned all about each foods medicinal and health benefits. Follow by a product sessions with numerous local vendors and suppliers.
Then back to Perth to check into the magnificent COMO The Treasury, Perth AU
The impeccable facilities, accommodations and standards at this hotel have made it top of my “must return to” list!
I then headed to to The Ritz-Carlton, Perth for a site inspection and gourmet dinner at Hearth Perth, chef Brian Cole winning the title of 2024 young chef of the year.
With an early flight back to Brisbane tomorrow I will be saddened to leave this gorgeous part of the world.
After experiencing a small section of I am excited to plan a return trip to explore more of this beautiful, diverse and exciting part of our country.

Today I was privileged to explore some of the best of the Margaret River Region. After a morning stroll in the beach and a delicious breakfast from Otherside of the moon the on site restaurant at the Pullman Bunker Bay Resort. I was greeted at reception by the lovely Kristy from Cape to Cape Explorer Tours. We bean the day with a 2 hour hike of the famous Cape to Cape walk. We explored the stunning coastline whilst learning about the local floral, fuana, history and geology of this distinctive area. Highlight for me was the natural aquarium.

Next stop was wine tasting and lunch at one of the many vineyards in the area Vasse Felix who not only produce fine wines but have an exceptional restaurant on site as well. The third stop on the tour was at Windows Estate Margaret River an organic, family owned winery.

This afternoon I watched the sunset over the beach at Smiths Beach Resort in one of their gorgeous 4 bedroom beach houses. Lamont's Smiths Beach was this evenings dinner venue offering a selection of delectable options, showcasing the local produce

Day 3 for Tracy was a sad goodbye to Rottnest but a happy hello to Margaret River!
After a 12 min flight back to the Perth foreshore with Swan River Seaplanes (what an experience!!) it was out to Aravina Estate for wine tasting and a delicious lunch of WA octopus. After lunch a short drive to Bunker Bay to check in at the gorgeous Pullman Bunker Bay Resort. A gorgeous property on the beach with spacious rooms and service with a smile.
Dinner arrangements for the evening was at Olio Bello Olive Oil. A gorgeous olive farm with lakeside glamping tents and passionate staff who pride themselves in farm to plate cuisine. Their natural products made from their oils are luxurious and the flavoured oils were delicious.

Tracy here, still in WA the dream state! After one for the best breakfasts I’ve eaten it was time to head to Victoria Quay to catch the SeaLink Rottnest Island ferry.
Fell in love with island and it’s cutest lil locals!
Lunch with Rottnest Cruises Luxe Seafood Cruise
After a welcome cocktail we were treated to an information briefing into the fascinating world of rock lobsters with insightful exploration of their biology, ecology, and conservation. The staff are so passionate about the preservation of these ocean treasures.
Volunteers were asked if they would like to pull in a pot, I couldn’t resist! Then we ate and ate
“Foodie fun on the water!” Certainly delivered!
After checking into my gorgeous glamping tent at Discovery Parks & Resorts it was time for dinner.
A short walk to the Isola Bar e Cibo for dinner!
Absolutely delicious Italian, fantastic wine and service. Then it was this time for this very satisfied traveler to crawl into her comfy comfy bed!

Tracy here in beautiful Perth. What a start to my Western Australia Dream Adventure!
Upon arrival I checked in to the stunning The Westin Perth. What a place to stay! Spacious rooms, great views and the service is superior. Heading off in the evening to Cottesloe Beach for dinner at the iconic Indigo Oscar.
They only thing that topped the amazing view was the food and service! Easy to see why this restaurant is so popular.
