MOUNT GEORGE TRAILS CLOSED

With the current weather situation we have decided to temporarily close the Mount George Trail Network. We will inspect the trail as soon as the weather has passed, and should reopen shortly thereafter - hopefully for the weekend!

A valid park pass is required for entry to all of Tasmania's national parks.

You can pick up a pass from any Visitor Information Centre. From the 1st July Holiday Passes will cost $82.40 per vehicle (up to 8 people) and are valid for 2 months. Holiday Passes cover entry to all national parks and include the use of the shuttle bus at Cradle Mountain.

This is a great way to experience Tasmania's world-class national parks. Make sure you take suitable clothing for changeable weather and track conditions

Don't forget to pick up a copy of the visitor's guide to Tasmania's national parks and reserves for $4.95

The George Town Historical Society and Lighthouse Regional Arts present a retrospective of the work of Jean Cook. The late Jean Cook was a long time resident of Low Head. The exhibition at the Watch House shows a small selection of her artworks discovered in storage in the artist’s studio. The exhibition can be viewed until 10th July.

Opening hours are Tues/Wed/Thurs 10am – 3pm and Sat/Sun 11am – 1pm
Entry is $3 (Cash only) or you can get an annual pass for $5

CURRENT EXHIBITION AT THE WATCH HOUSE

At the Watch House Gallery on Macquarie St is the work of students at South George Town Primary . These students work with a specialist art teacher and are encourged to learn different techniques and experiment with different media.

The exhibition can be seen from 13th April until 1st May. The Watch House is open Tues/Wed/Thurs 10am-3pm, and Sat/Sun 11am - 1pm
