📍Manning Gorge - Gibb River Road.

We got the famous burgers & chips then setup camp for the night. We planned to stay for 2 night however the rain had other ideas. We decided to wait it out and extended our stay for a total of 4 nights. It was so nice to catch up with some old mates from and reminis on our time at Kangaroo Island.

The swimming area was such a fun spot for the grubs to explore, swim & test out their bravery on the swing.

But the real experience was the start to the gorge walk, trying to get the kids and all our gear across the river.. it was a challenge but so worth the time & effort to be gifted with one of our favorite waterfalls on the Gibb 🙌

📍Ellebrae Station, located on the iconic Gibb River Road.

This incredible cattle station spans an impressive 1 million acres and is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Kimberley.

The station offers two camp sites, the Ringers and the Jackaroo, both of which are perfect for exploring the wilderness.

The hot water for the showers in the Jackaroo camp is heated by a donkey heater. It’s a unique and eco-friendly way to enjoy a hot shower in the middle of the Australian outback.

The Ringers camp, you’ll find a bathtub where you can soak away the red dust that’s so characteristic of the Kimberley region. It’s the perfect way to relax after a day of driving or exploring.

The station is home to some incredible swimming holes, where you can cool off on a hot day. And let’s not forget about the yummiest scones you’ll ever taste, served up in the homestead gardens.

Make sure you stop at Ellebrae Station on your way through the notorious Gibb River Road.

When we first discovered ‘The Gibb’, You know, that place where we thought it would be a long, dusty drive on a boring old road? Well, boy, were we wrong!

You see, before we started our adventures on the Gibb, I (Steph) had no idea what to expect. I was thinking, “This sounds boring, a very long drive, on a corrugated dusty road.” But!!! I was completely blown away! The Gibb blew all my expectations out of the park.

I didn’t realise that the Gibb was home to the most epic camps, stunning gorges, pristine rivers, and ancient rock formations. It was like a whole new world opened up before our eyes. And let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing.

The iconic 660klm stretch of road is a must see for any adventurer looking to explore the untamed beauty of the Kimberley region.

💯 add this one to your ever growing bucket list. This should be at the top!👌

📍Lake Argle, WA

We almost missed out on this incredible place, but boy, are we glad we stayed! Lake Argle is a true gem, offering some of the most scenic views you’ll ever experience.

We stayed 3 nights and got our 4th night free as apart of the ‘Best Mates’ discount with the membership. If you haven’t checked out the goodies your eligible for then I suggest you see what they have! You can get late checkout and a free bag of ice every stay! A good one if you have Margs on the menu🍸

📍Katherine Farm Stay

What a surprise this was! Offering a unique blend of adventure, relaxation, and fun for the whole family.

This place is so much fun that you’ll never want to leave! The best part? It only costs $40 per night (Power, Water & Pool), making it an affordable and unforgettable family experience.

At 3.30pm, everyday they have animal feeding where you can hold, pat & feed an array of domestic & wild animals. A great spot for the little groms. Highly recommend this one!

📍Crab Claw Island Resort, Darwin

Picture this: a tropical paradise, surrounded by palm trees, crystal-clear waters, and an epic fishing community.

This picturesque resort offers a range of accommodation, from beachfront bungalows to family cabins, all nestled among the lush vegetation of the island. And let’s not forget about the on-site restaurant, where you can relax with a few bevy’s after a day out on the water & watch the wildlife roam around.

If you don’t have a boat you have a choice to hire one. I think they were between $300-350 including fuel for the day!

This was one place that definitely surprised us and gave us all those Island Vibe Feels!! 🏝️

📍Dundee Beach, Darwin

Dundee beach is a tropical stretch of coastline located about 50km from Darwin. It’s known for its good fishing, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking sunsets.
It’s a great place to spot sharks, crocs and marine life from the shore. There was even a pod of Orcas kicking around while we were there.

The kiddies enjoyed finding coconuts 🥥 & the pub was great for a good feed & bevy!

📍Mataranka Hot Springs

This place is truly unique and definitely worth a visit.

Mataranka is known for its sweltering temperatures, but luckily, there’s a serene oasis just waiting to be discovered. After a long day exploring the outback there’s nothing more refreshing than a dip in these hot springs. With an inviting temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius all year round.

Save this one for your bucket list when heading to the . You won’t regret it!
