Onya, Skippy…look at them go. Came across hoards of Wallabies on the Moralana Scenic Drive on our last day of the Flinders Tour.
Emus on the track, Arkaroola region
Peacocks in the middle of the Flinders Ranges out at Iga Warta, the Aboriginal Cultural Tourism Centre. They offer great camping facilities. About 60k out of Copley in SA
A brief stop at Sliding Rock Copper mine ruins before heading into Warraweena Conservation Park to check out track conditions to Copley.
Back in the Flinders Ranges for another Ultimate Adventure ten day tour. Days are hot but nights are breezy and cool. Looking forward to spending some memory creating time with new participants 👍
The Ochre Cliffs just outside Lyndhurst in South Australia. Spectacular white, reds and yellows
Starting of the Crossley Engine near the Bourke Wharf. This a daily attraction from 12pm to about 12:45pm. Very interesting to see the old engine start up. The young lad provides an easy to understand background history of the engine and the start up process. Worth a visit.
Lake Menindee looking more like the ocean with the distant water line almost touching the sky line
The Bourke Wharf with the Darling-Baaka lapping at the top most deck. The amount of water in the river is phenomenal.
The board explains the reason for the looks of utter disappointment on the faces of the group. We were planning on driving the tracks in Kinchenga Park but this was not to be this time around. The road to Pooncarie was also closed so we drove back to Broken Hill and headed for Wentworth.
Another magnificent view of Lake Menindee from Menindee Caravan Park. Rain on the horizon for us today as we head to Mungo NP.
Given the rain this region has experienced recently, Lake Menindee is full. Hoping to glimpse some bird life whilst we’re here.
A quiet and peaceful bush camp site on the banks of Lake Pamamaroo near Menindee. Being a week end, Caravan Park is full and so are most free camp grounds.
Another great evening in the outback. Penrose Park caravan park at Silverton. All roads to Mutawintje NP being closed we took the black top from Wilcannia to Broken Hill and then to Silverton. It’s been a hot sun today and we’re hoping it dries out the tracks so as we don’t miss out on any more planned sites to visit.
A very fine morning at Wilcannia. The sun has been shining for two days now so hopefully the tracks to Mutawintje NP are open. Packing up to begin the day shortly.
