Tackle the Lakes Trail Festival this July! ⁠
⁠
Australia’s newest off road ultra running event, traversing the Great Lakes region of the NSW North Coast. In the LAKES Trail Festival runners can complete 100km, 70km, 50km or 30km. There is also a 12km course for those wanting a shorter trail experience and a 1km Lakes Kids run. The race will start and finish in Hawks Nest taking runners along beaches, past lakes and through forests, tracking some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the Australia. It will have the arguably the most beautiful half way point in Australia beside the beach at Seal Rocks, taking runners past the iconic lighthouse.​⁠

​Each course follows existing tracks and trails, beaches, lake edges and single track. This trail running experience will be unique as it combines coastal trails with forest tracks, sand dunes, beaches and rocky headlands taking runners through remote wilderness areas.⁠
⁠
You can run solo or in a team. Solo runners can go for a quick run or go all day in the ultimate 100km. Teams, of up to 4, can run the 100km course separated into 4 legs and get to finish together. Teams of 2 can run the 50km.⁠

​Race weekend starts with rego on Friday 5 July and racing starting on Saturday 6 July 2024 – this is a great time of year to go for a run. Temperature wise it will be cool at night but mild during the day and most likely dry – perfect running weather.

☆ HELP PLEASE - OUR RESCUE/SERVICE BOAT HAS BEEN STOLEN ☆

If anyone has seen our rescue/service boat please let us know or report it to police asap. Last seen docked at our jetty on Marine Drive Tea Gardens on Thursday 2 May 2024.

It has rego UVI 459118, Tea Gardens BBQ Boats name and Aussie Hunter stickers on both sides.

Please also share this post with people you may know, particularly those that live in the Port Stephens area.

5th of October, Myall River Fair!

FAIR OFF TO A FABULOUS START!
As the organiser of the Myall River Fair - the Myall Times has been overwhelmed by the positive response to the recent announcement of the event being held along the Tea Gardens waterfront on Saturday October 5.

Stallholder applications are coming in thick and fast for the day of fun and family orientated festivities.

Here's just some of the happenings on the day.

Members of the Jimmy's Beach Aquatic Club will race their surf boats on the river, the ducks will raise money for our local Tea Gardens Public School.

There'll be a dog show compared and sponsored by Sharon from Greenpaws Mobile Dog Wash, Grooming and Pet Supplies. Lots of prizes will be on offer for your precious pooches - including awards for the waggliest tail, the beautiful and not so beautiful and 'Best in Show'.

The legendary 'Wet T Shirt' competition so popular at the 'Prawn Festival' held in the last century - will be back with a twist - 'G' rated - as appropriate in the year 2024 but still guaranteed to be plenty of fun.

There'll be plenty of live music, fire trucks for the kids to explore, vintage cars to crave over, members of the Tea Gardens Men's Shed will show off some of their creations, Boomerang Bags and petting zoo.

Of course more sponsors will mean more attractions, so feel free to apply to the Myall Times.

The Fair will be focussing on raising money for local not-for-profit groups, that are not Government funded such as the Private Clinic Bus and Boxing Club.

The Myall Times is very excited by the prospect of a great day out for the community and visitors.
