Oooh it’s getting closer to Joey season! In spring these little cuties leave their mums’ pouches for the first time, and practice their bouncing - and I tell you it is a sight to behold! They are all legs, skinny and all out of proportion, and all they want to do is climb out, jump really fast in one direction, turn around and race back as fast as they can to mum.
We are lucky here that the mum roos have decided outside our kitchen window on the edge of the Black Range forest is a perfect Joey nursery and we often make our morning coffee watching these cute furry neighbours with their babies. Hopefully our guests won’t just be spotting baby lambs this spring!

Just topping up the firewood in the woodshed while my guests are out at a winery. I swear it was clear only moments ago, and now look, the view has entirely vanished into pea soup. I’ve never seen fog as often as I have seen it since moving here, and in winter often Mt Macedon has a thick foggy blanket laying over the top of it. Six years on and it’s still magical and beautiful when it comes rolling in 😍

Mt Macedon 😍 Beautiful in so many ways, whether it’s the moody bushwalks, the epic views, the incredible towering old native forest, the very old and very gorgeous pub, or the grand estates of yesteryear being slowly swallowed up by their enormous 150yr old gardens.
