LIVE MUSIC, BAR, FOOD & MARKET STALLS! The perfect Summer evening at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum & Gallery for the Twilight markets this weekend. 3 - 7pm Saturday 1st February, Dent St Huskisson.

Enjoy the free music sessions from Trio , followed by The Jazz Camels. Sip a wine or cold beer at our fundraising bar with dinner, gifts and treats from one of our amazing local stallholders.

LAST DAYS! The Australian War Memorial exhibition, Action Film & War is closing on Monday 27th January 2025.

There is a long tradition of servicemen and servicewomen working on feature films as advisers, actors, cinematographers and stunt people. Today, modern veterans have found working in the film industry a therapeutic post-service experience, drawing on their military skills and training in a whole new way.
Explore the experiences of veterans working in the film industry, along with many more stories from the history of film and war, as part of the Australian War Memorial’s touring exhibition Action! Film & War.

EXHIBITION OPEN
A Fragile Ecosystem is an exhibition that explores the magical underwater world of the Jervis Bay Marine Park through the lens of local diver Rod Sleath.

This male Weedy Seadragon carrying eggs, off Bowen Island Jervis Bay was snapped in September 2023 and is an incredible example of the ecologically rich and visually stunning coastal environment.

The exhibition is included with Museum entry.

When Huskisson Was a Village is a small exhibition currently on show that combines historical photographs with the paintings of John Heffill, Nicci Bedson and Billy Bedwell.

The paintings of Nicci Bedson celebrate the mid 20th Century coastal architecture of homes built in Huskisson that are slowly disappearing.

3 - 7pm January 2nd: Chocolate Dogs (3-5pm) George Bishop and friends (5-7pm) with Nomad Kitchen & BBQ onsite serving smoked meats and salads.

Each Thursday afternoon will feature two great live music acts for free with the Museum open late (admission fees apply).

In 1957, Huskisson was still very much a village with a long main street containing
the essential pub and general store. In this photo, Deidre Edwards stands with her
dog, Windward Pinnocchio, beside the Huskisson Hotel looking west down Owen Street. Deidre and her husband, John, had recently married in Sydney and were having their beachside caravan honeymoon in Huskisson. The caravan became their home for the next twelve months while they built their three-roomed fibro-clad home using a DIY book for reference.
