Ganga Giri at the Inverloch Equinox Festival: A Performance to Remember

No matter where he plays, Ganga Giri blows audiences away—Inverloch was no exception. For 30 years, the Yidaki (didgeridoo) virtuoso has taken his one-of-a-kind sound worldwide, electrifying millions. Driven by spirit, power, and a deep connection to Country, this Palawa man continues to push musical boundaries, fusing ancient sounds with modern beats.

At the Equinox Festival, the pulsing rhythms of the didgeridoo filled the air, weaving seamlessly with driving electronic beats. Ganga didn’t just perform; he invited the crowd to move, to connect, and to celebrate as one. Kids and adults alike danced on Country, embracing Indigenous culture through sound and movement. At one point, hands lifted as the crowd flapped their wings twice and glided like Bunjil, the great wedge-tailed eagle of First Nations lore—an unforgettable moment of unity and celebration.

Good morning Inverloch ! We are hoping everyone is still pumped from a magical night at The Glade amd Inder the Stars ! Don’t forget there is still plenty to do to celebrate the Equinox. You may be keen to be up early for a community run and chat, don’t forget the Inverloch Lions Community Farmers Market has a special
Market at The Glade today and Wattlebank Farm is hosting a Walk, Meditate and Journal Session with horses ! The last events to end your Equinox Festival Week End are being run by the South Gippsland Conservation Society ; a fabulous Rockpool ramble and the Screw Creek Interpretive Trail Guided Walk!

A guided tour of the new Screw Creek Interpretive Trail and of course dinosaur dreaming adventures for the kids plus the Shell Museum will stay open until 7pm . The Wellbeing Expo is on from 10-4 at the Visitors Centre and the library is holding a fabulous book talk …… then it’s a nights entertainment at The Glade ! What a huge day showcasing Inverloch .
