After buying this farmlet a few years ago, sh*t hit the fan. My health declined drastically, empty nest syndrome hit hard, and i was really having more problems than ever focussing, relaxing and keeping track of time.
Then something changed...
My health started improving, I realised I'm more than the sum of my children, after 20 years single I fell for one of best friends, and I was diagnosed with adhd so I am re-learning my brains strengths (and now focussing on this as a psychologist and coach) and stepping into the woman I am meant to be.
High on that priority list is making over the property....
and the front garden....
Why?
The soil is hydrophobic, the climate is more extreme and the garden design is not aligned to my values and principles.
As I'm leaning into what matters to me in my 50s the front garden is getting a permaculture / regenerative farming makeover.
Being neurospicy, I need to do this process my way...
(not how everyone says it 'should' be done)..
so that means...
Mapping it out in several modalities, pintrest, magazine clippings, lots of highlighted books and articles ....
and most of all... physically seeing things mapped out in real space.
As I am a recovering perfectionist, learning how to play more and an #adhdgardener there are things I know are true about this process...
🌻its ok to change my mind ... on the daily, heck every minute if I want to...
🌻 I give myself permission to make mistakes and f**k things up.
🌻its ok to ask for help.
🌻gardens evolve, I can add and subtract over time.
🌻it is a need, not an optional, to write an overall draft plan (did you see the word... draft🧠) and a proposed timetable whilst my enthusiasm is still high... as I will forget things if my interest is taken elsewhere.
🌻it's ok to have empty spaces in the garden bed for plants to grow.
🌻people will tell me not to worry about organics, or following earth care practices... I will smile and then continue to do wh

I thought I would take you on the journey of rejuvenating the secret garden. This is where you will be able to come in the future to sit and have tea and cake, or to elope, or maybe propose...
But there is some work and love that needs to happen first. Starting with the soil.
I would love it if you followed me on the journey.
Let me know your top tips for rejuvenating the soil.
