Maria began her training as a Technical Officer in Pathology some 27 years ago at Tighes Hill Technical College in Newcastle. Working primarily in research at both The David Maddison Clinical Sciences Buildi

ng and The Royal Newcastle Hospital, Maria’s experience and understanding of the importance of health at a cellular level spans various pathology modalities including microbiology, immunology, heamatology, biochemistry and histology. In 2001, Maria accepted a position managing a busy private laboratory in Sydney which specializes in assessing health status from a holistic perspective. This shift in perspective ignited Maria’s desire to learn more about holistic health improvement and what can be achieved in life with health improvement. Moving to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland in early 2005 gave Maria the opportunity to open her own busy consultation service — My Life Blood Enterprises. Maria’s highly sought after consultation service specialised in both Live and Dry Blood Analysis and also incorporated the element of ABO and Rhesus blood typing. Maria’s belief and passion in life strongly had revolved around this specialized form of health evaluation which brought a clearer awareness to individuals regarding their own personal health status. While in clinic, Maria continued to be actively involved in independent research projects bringing further knowledge to the holistic health industry through her specialised blood analysis. The results of a number of these research studies have been published internationally. Maria had also devoted her time to educating people through health awareness seminars, sharing valuable information on such topics as the body’s natural needs and wholefoods with a focus on self-responsibility and what can be achieved by accessing the body’s own healing potential within. “What I believe is vital for all individuals to begin the health improvement journey, is to first of all understand where we are in relation to ‘Health’. Once we understand this, we have valuable information that gives us clear direction on what we need to address. We can improve our health if we choose and embracing personal responsibility is part of this. When we consciously make the choice to take responsibility we are more able to access our body’s own incredibly powerful healing potential and that is an unlimited potential we all have within”. Maria’s understanding of this fundamental aspect of health improvement on every level has stemmed from her own personal health journey experiencing first-hand the body’s incredible healing ability and what can be achieved when it simply has what it needs to do exactly what it is designed to do – to heal. As time has moved on, that message Maria has been promoting to individuals of, "You must take personal responsibility for your health journey", has become even MORE important to Maria. And so, as of December 2016, Maria's Sunshine Coast Clinic was closed to enable her to take the next step on her own health and life journey. In early 2017, Maria and her husband Douglas, journeyed to Far North Qld to begin their search for land that they could transform into a healing space for themselves. So, Maria is currently on a sabbatical ~ not sure how long for. I have some news to share...
For the past 16 years I have been providing a service that so many of you have connected with. Those 16 years have been a wonderful, blessed time for me, to not only meet a huge number of wonderful people, but I have had the absolute privilege of seeing so many of you do what is required to bring your health back to a balanced place again.

Half of that time, the last 8 years, has been a time for me personally to focus on my own health and healing after the trauma that I experienced in a serious motor vehicle accident. I have learnt a lot through the last 8 years and my health now, is far better than what it was when I was in my thirties.

Having turned 50 this year, I want to take my level of health and well-being to an even more balanced place and so I have made the decision to move to a place that delivers to me the things I need for my own continued health improvement.

Far North Queensland is on our radar and so I will be finishing up my consulting service here on the Sunshine Coast at the end of October this year. With just over 5 weeks till then, IF you (or someone you know) wants a blood analysis with me, now is the time to book it. I'm multitasking this morning...Eating AND Seed Saving :-D When I was younger I didn't think much about the foods I was consuming... I've come to realise that there is a HUGE connection between HEALTH and what we choose to eat AND for me this also includes strengthening the connection between me and WHERE my food comes from. Growing food is really awesome and satisfying, hence the seed saving :-) It's exciting when you come across a different variety of food to grow, like this yummy yellow skinned watermelon

The list of blood tests given in this article is quite comprehensive and not all those would be necessary at one time. Something to note with the thyroid though, I commonly see people who show signs of a thyroid imbalance yet they tell me 'my thyroid test came back normal'.... This is because most GP's just do a TSH test and that's it.... it's common for the TSH to be just barely within the 'normal range' yet the doctor takes it no further....had a client like that yesterday and she clearly had a thyroid issue in my opinion. To do some of the other thyroid tests, like the reverse T3, I understand it's not covered by medicare and costs around $180. http://mylifeblood.com.au
