Christmas time is an exciting time here at Naomi's Family Day Care as we get to listen to all our favourite Christmas chunes and make endless amounts of Christmas crafts!

The children at 'Naomi's Family Day Care' have had a very busy few weeks finishing off some tie dyeing, starting on their Christmas activities and having SO much fun keeping 'cool' during our hot days with heaps of water play! 😎

FYI - 1 vacancy available for kindy and under on a Wednesday and 1 vacancy available come 1st of January for a Thursday for kindy and under age. A few spots available for PP ages and over.

Rainy days = cooking 😋 . The children have enjoyed lots of baking this week as they made some rainbow cookies and chocolate crackles.....

During the cooking process, the children were supported with appropriate social skills and teamwork: Cooking is a collaborative effort. The children learnt to take turns, share responsibilities, and work together towards a common goal.

A fun activity for toddlers especially those that LOVE dinosaurs!! 🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕🦖🦕

By stomping dinosaur feet through playdough, the children learn......

🐝 By creating imprints of dinosaur feet in the playdough, the children learned about the unique shapes and patterns of different dinosaur footprints.

🦋 Exploring the concept of pressure, the children understood that stomping harder left a deeper imprint, showcasing the relationship between force and effect.

🤩Creativity😍

🐞The children demonstrated creativity by experimenting with different ways to make the dinosaur footprints, leading to unique and imaginative results.

🐛 Exploring color combinations and patterns in the playdough, the children enhanced their artistic skills and visual perception.

🩵Fine Motor Skills🩷

🐝 Manipulating the playdough to create the dinosaur footprints helped the children improve their hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

🦋 The squeezing, rolling, and pressing motions required during the activity enhanced the children's fine motor skills and finger strength.

🙌NAIDOC Week🙌

🦋The children learned about the significance of NAIDOC Week in celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

🐞They developed an understanding of the themes of this year's NAIDOC Week and how it relates to the broader community.

🐝Through activities and discussions, the children explored the diversity of Indigenous cultures and languages in Australia.

🐛By participating in related art and craft activities, they gained insight into traditional Indigenous art techniques and styles.

* The children practiced hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills by holding and controlling the drawing materials.

* Through drawing family members, the children learned about emotions and expressions, depicting them through the characters in the portrait.

* Understanding of shapes and sizes evolved as the children drew different family members and painted pictures with varying body proportions and facial features.

Last week, the children have been enjoying soaking up the amazing sun we had by using chalk to draw on the trampoline. The children have been coming up with some wonderful pictures as they have used a variety of coloured chalk to draw and colour big beautiful flowers and rainbows......

🐞The activity of drawing pictures with chalk on the trampoline allows the children to express their creativity in a unique and unrestricted way, encouraging imagination.

🦋Through this activity, the children learn to combine colors, shapes, and patterns to create visually appealing artwork, fostering their artistic development.

🐛Experimenting with different techniques on the bouncy surface helps the children understand how their movements impact the outcome of their drawings, promoting problem-solving skills.

The children enjoyed 'Book Week' this week where they were able to share what their favourite book/books were with their peers and then do themed activities to go with their book to support writing, sequencing and language skills.

📚 They practiced their speaking skills by retelling stories in their own words to their friends.

Today, the children were asked to sequence a movie they watched, and design and follow instructions for activities.....

* The children enhanced their critical thinking skills by understanding the sequence of events in a movie.

* By sequencing the movie, the children improved their memory retention and recall abilities.

* This activity helped the children develop their storytelling skills as they organized the movie's events in a logical order.

* Through sequencing a movie, the children learned the importance of following a plot structure and identifying the beginning, middle, and end.
