Heading overseas soon? ✈️ This is your friendly reminder to check your passport's expiry date. Most countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months from the end of your planned stay (otherwise, you may be refused entry).

The cost of obtaining an Australian passport is increasing by 15% on 1st July so if your passport is due for renewal soon, now is a good time to kick off the process.

Ship life... Alex has graduated to the coveted blue band for flow Rider. This band allows you to participate in the advanced wake sessions. You only get one chance per day to try and advance. We'll done Alex.

Cruise Drinks package or Not...
This is a snippet from a fellow cruiser, Greg Baldy Crichton's light-hearted attempt to clarify it for you onboard Royal Caribbean.

1. If your plan is to..
a) be first at the bar every day
b) be messy by 3pm
c) banging the keys on the piano in the Schooner Bar by 9pm
d) trying to chat up the robotic bar tender by 11, and
e) passed out in a stairwell by midnight, then buy the package.
Dying with a leg in the air in Guest Services when you settle your bill will only slow the line up.

2. If your plan is to..
a) enjoy barista made coffees and fresh squeezed juices for brekky
b) enjoy the amazing cocktails and mid strength beers during the day around the pool
c) have some glasses of shiraz with dinner
d) sing and laugh raucously with the piano player at the Schooner Bar, then buy the package.
You won't die with a leg in the air at guest services if you don't, but you may have a mild heart attack and be on medication for life.

3. If you plan to,
a) have coffee and juice
b) have a couple of beers
c) have a glass of wine with tea, then you may or may not find the value in the package. Do the math. Google the drinks prices.
Google knows everything.
Like my darling wife.

4. If you are happy with a cup of tea and a book on your balcony, don't buy the package.

You may be better off with the other non alcoholic packages that are available. I don't know anything about them.
Never bought one.

We Cruisers are all after one thing... a relaxing enjoyable holiday. Our travelling party fall into #2 group as listed above, although we will more than likely dip a toe in the water of #1 group occasionally.
We will enjoy our cruise to the fullest but still walk a (relatively) straight line to bed each day.

Just do you and laugh along with everyone else.
