Marmore Falls, Terni

You can feel the energy and power at the Marmore Falls (Cascata delle Marmore) near Terni, Italy. They are one of the tallest man-made waterfalls in the world, standing at 165 meters high. Created by the ancient Romans in 271 BC, the falls are part of an elaborate system to divert the waters of the Velino River into the Nera River, preventing the swamping of farmland. The falls consist of three separate drops, surrounded by lush greenery and traversed by scenic walking trails. It’s a fun site, especially on a warm day!

Day 4: Journey through Umbria What a fun morning cooking with the delightful Francesca from #magicfrancesca We made tortelli of ricotta and spinach served with butter and parmigiano and paired with Grechetto. Then fettuccine matriciana served with Montefalco rosso. Finishing with a pistachio semifreddo. After a brief rest, we headed to the unique town of Deruta, home of pottery & ceramics. A lovely wander through the town and a few purchases were made to remember our lovely day. We finished at a 2024 Michelin star restaurant #ristoranteirodella It was a decadent fine dining experience.
