Hi guys, I'm a member of the Morwell SES unit. Our dirt bikes have been stolen from our facility located in Morwell along with our 3-bike trailer. They are 2x 1996 Kawasaki KLX 250s as shown in the pictures below. The bikes have been a vital part of Search and Rescue operations in the Gippsland area for the past 20 years. They are utilised mainly in high-density bushland to cover tracks and search perimeters that a 4WD vehicle simply could not access, therefore usually require on-foot searching.
These bikes are very unique - they are like brand new and are well looked after, which is why I believe they will stand out. It would be much appreciated if the riders on this page could keep an eye out for these bikes and trailer. Please contact Crimestoppers or the local Police if you see or hear anything.
What an appauling act of indecency especially considering these appliances are here to help us assist the community. To replace these would take volunteer fundraising money away from our large 'wishlist' of rescue equipment.
