🐋 12.40pm - A single Humpback Whale has been reported approximately one kilometre out from Port Elliot, heading in a westerly direction.

WHALE SIGHTING - 1 JUNE 2024

🐋 3.06pm - The Big Duck Boat Tours has sighted a Humpback approximately two kilometres out from Flat Iron, heading west. Flat Iron, between Kings Head and Newland Head Conservation Park, is located approximately five kilometres south-west of The Bluff.

WHALE SIGHTING - SUNDAY, 12 MAY 2024

Humpback Sighting Two
🐋 At 4.21pm - One Humpback is half way between Wright and Granite Islands, Victor Harbor.

🐋🐋 At 3.52 - A Humpback, possibly two, have been reported still between Wright and Granite Islands, Victor Harbor.

🐋 At 3.52pm The Humpback can still be seen between Wright and Granite Island.

🐋 At 3.30pm The Humpback Whale was sighted breaching between Wright and Granite Island, Victor Harbor still heading East.

🐋 At 3pm A Humpback has been confirmed 100 metres from the tip of The Bluff, Victor Harbor heading east.

Humpback Sighting One

🐋 At 3pm - Unfortunately the Encounter Bay Right Whale Study group who are currently observing this whale, now confirmed to be a young Humpback Whale, say that this particular whale sadly appears to be sick.

🐋 At 2.23pm - A whale has been confirmed as a Humpback Whale approximately 100 metres off of the Granite Island Causeway, Victor Harbor.

🐋 At 2.15pm - Crew from believe they have seen a whale out from the Screwpile jetty, heading towards the Granite Island breakwater.

Have you seen this sighting? We would love to have some more information and photos.

The Encounter Bay Right Whale Study group take data from every whale sighting and use this vital information to learn about whale behaviour, individual whales (yes they can tell who is who if the whale has been previously recorded), and of course how we can help these amazing mammals of the sea.

WHALE SIGHTINGS - SATURDAY, 11 MAY 2024

🐋 At 10.49am The Big Duck Boat Tours identified a small Humpback just out from Granite Island's screw pile Jetty. We have an image in the comments👇

🐋🐋🐋 At 8am bodyboarders at Knights Beach, Port Elliot saw up to three whales heading east. While this sighting is currently unconfirmed we are excited to hear that more whales are being seen by the public.

How Exciting. It's 🐳🐳🐳🐳 time!! First sighting today!!!! WOOHOO!!!!🥳

We have our first WHALE SIGHTING of the year! Some lucky people on the The Big Duck Boat Tours have spotted a Whale off from Seal Island, Victor Harbor.

Unfortunately the whale did not surface long enough and was not spotted again, so no identification of the species was confirmed.

Look what's back from the 1st of May!! Our much loved firepit is back in action. Nothing beats sitting around the fire roasting s'mores (marshmallows squashed between biscuits). Roast pumpkin and potatoes!! Aaahh the joy in kids faces!!! Amazing!!!
