Attention foodies - acclaimed chef Mark Stuart Best is hosting a one-day-only dining experience at Kuti Shack on Saturday, February 22. 👀

Partnering with Kuti Shack’s Brendan Roach, Mark has crafted a menu that celebrates the rich produce of the Coorong, featuring freshly caught seafood and native foraged ingredients.

Guests will begin with snacks on the sandhills before sitting down to a long-table lunch or an elevated six-course dinner.

Expect dishes like Coorong carp Chiko Rolls, blue swimmer crab with almond milk, and fig leaf and olive oil soft serve with peach sherbet.

Meet Robin and Ron from Mallee Spirit! They've just opened a brand-new cellar door in Lameroo. 🍸

Their first gin, Myrtle, put them on the map, a citrus number that featured lemon and aniseed myrtle from Robin's garden.

They also do a beautiful Strawberry gin. The natural sweetness of the fruit makes it a perfect pairing with prosecco to make a Strawberry Fizz.

Visitors can sip and stay a while - with plans for events, on-site camping, and curated gin experiences. They run After Work Drinks at the cellar door on the third Friday of each month. 📅

Burma and Permai update 🐘

Burma is beating the heat in Monarto Safari Park watering hole while Permai is en route from Perth Zoo.

On Monday morning Permai was loaded into her custom-built crate, then lifted by crane onto the back of a truck. Her team will take turns driving the 2,700 kms across the country, and she is expected to arrive tomorrow morning.

With a Sky Quality Meter reading of 21.9 - you’ll see Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury will light up the night sky.

Tips for optimal viewing:
✨ Look to the southwest about 45 minutes after sunset.
✨ Mercury and Venus will be easiest to spot near the horizon just after sunset
✨ Jupiter and Mars will be visible higher in the sky
✨ Saturn may require binoculars or a telescope for a clear view

Meet Narelle and Joel, the duo behind Dairy Adventures Mannum 🐮

BURMA UPDATE 🐘 Burma continues to explore the cloverleaf area - nearly four acres with shade, a waterhole, and an in-ground drinker for refreshing enrichment. She also has access to the elephant barn for indoor comfort. The cloverleaf is one of four outdoor spaces in the 12-hectare Asian Elephant habitat, designed with waterholes, mud wallows, and foraging areas to support the herd’s social needs. Monarto Safari Park will welcome Permai from Perth later this month as Burma’s new family starts arriving in 2025!
