Today I embarked on my last 220km round trip to the office before I consolidate my business and move to a home-based mobile agency.

Therese has quite rightly been shown so much love and appreciation over the past couple of weeks - we are all so incredibly grateful for all that she has done and she will certainly be missed.

While this is not my preferred outcome, when you tell your almost 3yr old daughter you are driving to the office for the last time and her eyes burst open, she gasps with excitement and wraps her tiny arms around your neck to hug you oh so tightly…it certainly feels like the right one…

Whilst things may initially look a little different rest assured you can still experience the same great service we have always been known for while still offering the convenience of personal consultations by appointment.

After an unsuccessful campaign to sell my business over the past 12 months, due to family reasons I have made the very difficult but necessary decision to move to a home-based travel agency as of 01 July.

With the closure of the office also comes the unfortunate departure of Therese Oliver from Naracoorte Travel n Cruise. Therese is a much loved and valued employee who so many of you have had the pleasure of working with over the years and have experienced first-hand her professional service and expertise in curating personalised and amazing holiday experiences.

I personally could not be more thankful or appreciative of her dedication, expert knowledge and friendship she has provided over the past 12 years and I will certainly miss working with her. Therese will work closely with me over her remaining time in the office to ensure I am familiar with all aspects of her current bookings for a seamless transition.

I am aware Therese will be sadly missed by many of you, but rest assured you will still receive the same great service you have come to know and love, complimented by my own 16 years experience in the industry.

I would like to personally thank you for all the amazing support you have shown our team at Naracoorte Travel n Cruise over the years and I certainly look forward to continuing to assist you with all your future travel arrangements.

Our last stop at Manguri siding for our Coober Pedy off train excursions.
A chance to visit an underground mine, the Serbian Orthodox Church, Umoona Opal mine, the Breakaways and dog fence and we all enjoyed a delicious lunch underground.

Today we arrived in Alice Springs and headed off on our off train excursions.
Some of enjoyed the Alice Springs Desert Park while others enjoyed Standley Chasm and the Alice Springs Explorer tour.

Yesterday our stop in Katherine where we enjoyed off train excursions.
The most popular tour was the Nitmiluk Gorge Cruise, a couple of the group enjoyed Katherine Outback experience where they were entertained by Tom Curtain and his animals and Therese visited the Cutta Cutta Caves tour.
Dinner on the train was amazing!

A relaxing sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour was a perfect way to finish off our stay in Darwin.

Another great day on our Sea Darwin World War 2 and military tour. Interesting stories of the Bombing of Darwin and World War 2 history and an interesting cruise on Darwin harbour visiting significant sites of the bombing.
A delicious lunch of fish and chips on the wharf before visiting the RFDS.

After a free few hours this morning our day of touring started at midday for a Darwin City tour with our wonderful driver guide Michael. A drive around the city showing us the places of interest before visiting the amazing Darwin Aviation Museum and then onto Darwin Museum and Art Gallery where some of also enjoyed the Archie 100 exhibition. At the end of the tour we dropped off some of the group to Mindil market while the rest returned to the hotel to enjoy their evening.

An early start as we headed out to Kakadu National Park.
First stop our cruise on Yellow Water Billabong and south Alligator River where we saw heaps of crocodiles 🐊 bird life and lilies.
A delicious Lunch at Cooinda before a visit to Nourlangie.

Kayaking is a popular activity on the South Coast, we were lucky enough to spend the morning with Region X Kayaking.
A fun time on the Clyde River where we visited an oyster farm and enjoyed the most delicious and fresh oysters before kayaking along the oyster farms then crossing the river to the oyster sheds.

Tuesday on the South Coast. There is so much to do, see and eat!
An inspection at Mystery Bay Cottages where Dwayne from Ngaran Ngaran Culture Awareness performed a smoking ceremony before walking down to one of the beautiful secluded beaches in the area.
Onto Narooma where we jumped on e bikes with Southbound Escapes and rode around Narooma for a couple of hours and enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch.
The weather had turned by the afternoon meaning our scheduled seaplane flight was cancelled although we still visited their base and had a very informative chat with Tim from Southcoast Seaplanes.

Therese is out of the office this week as a guest of Tourism Australia and Destination NSW with other Premier Aussie Specialists from around Australia.
The beautiful South Coast of NSW is their destination.
Yesterday they inspected a beautiful forest retreat property called The Bower at Broulee before a quick tour of the beautiful beaches at Mossy Point.
The afternoon they cruised to Montague Island and enjoyed an island tour before an amazing experience snorkelling with the seals (GoPro footage to come)
A delicious dinner at the Tathra Hotel and then onto our accommodation for the night at Tanja Lagoon Lodge, a mixture of eco tents and cabins!
