I feel very sorry for anyone whom has used Bestjet to book their flights. This is one of the many reasons I don't use or match prices from these type of websites......

Online travel agent Bestjet collapses just over a month after changing hands.

Bestjet Travel Pty Ltd appears to have ceased trading, with the company's website currently offline and an Australian Securities and Investments Commission update today indicating that external administrators have been appointed to the business which claimed to be one of Australia's largest online travel agencies.

The apparent failure of the business comes just weeks after the company was sold to the McVicker Investment Group early in November 2018.

Bestjet Travel was founded by Rachel James, whose husband Michael presided over the $90 million collapse of Air Australia in 2012. The company engaged in extensive legal action with AFTA two years ago after the Federation decided that its ATAS accreditation would not be renewed.

Details of the collapse are unclear at this stage. The company was claimed to be the "most advanced internet-based travel business in Australia" just six weeks ago, and at the time of its acquisition by the McVicker family was set to provide "an unparallelled platform...to take the business to a new level".
