West Australians are starting to invest younger, with almost 50% of first home buyers under 30.

Latest statistics show the number of homeowners aged 30 or under has jumped 60 per cent since 2008, with almost 50 per cent of the state's first-homebuyers now aged 30 or under. That is compared to just 31 per cent six years ago, according to new statistics from Mortgage Choice.

The prospect of even lower interest rates in 2015 is good news for real estate markets in Western Australia's capital city, according to a national real estate group. Angus Raine, CEO of Raine & Horne, said with the Perth market so heavily tied to the commodities sector, the Reserve Bank's decisions throughout 2015 would underpin real estate activity in the city.
