Meet Mohsin Iqbal, our dedicated Accountant at TXA, who’s been keeping our numbers in check for an impressive six years! 🧾✨

Based in Perth, Mohsin is not just a whiz with financial reporting (his favourite part of the job), but also a devoted family man. With two sons and a 3-year-old “princess” daughter 👑, weekends for him are all about outings and quality time with his loved ones – the perfect way to recharge after the challenges of year-end reporting! ☕

Mohsin has a deep appreciation for the beauty of Australia and its incredible landscapes. His favourite sunrise? Watching the first light break over Perth’s skyline from Kings Park 🌅, with the Swan River shimmering below and the majestic eucalyptus trees in view.

When it comes to hidden gems, Mohsin highly recommends Lake Clifton in Yalgorup National Park 🌊, a natural wonder he loves introducing to travellers. And his personal favourite landscape? The otherworldly Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, just a short drive north of Perth 🏜️.

With so many breathtaking places to explore, Mohsin’s Australian bucket list is as inspiring as it is adventurous:
1️⃣ Exploring the vibrant marine life of Ningaloo Reef 🐠
2️⃣ Witnessing the rugged beauty of the Kimberley Region 🏞️
3️⃣ Driving the iconic Great Ocean Road 🚗

A self-proclaimed summer lover, Mohsin’s motivation comes from sharing the beauty of Australia with others and helping create unforgettable experiences. His practical desert island picks (a solar-powered satellite phone and a fully equipped caravan!) prove he’s not only great with numbers but also prepared for anything!

We’re so lucky to have Mohsin on the TXA team, keeping us grounded and inspired with his love for Australia and dedication to his craft! 💼👏

Originally from Liverpool, England 🇬🇧, Nicola has swapped the historic streets and vibrant culture of her hometown for sunrises over Perth’s skyline 🌅 and the pristine beaches of Australia 🇦🇺. A self-proclaimed nature lover, she finds joy in camping 🏕️, kayaking 🛶, and snorkelling her way through Australia’s breathtaking landscapes.

But it’s not all play! Nicola’s been part of TXA for almost four years, including 18 months in her current role. She thrives on helping small and independent businesses shine online and boost their profitability 💻. It’s this passion for connecting businesses with travellers that makes her an invaluable part of the TXA team.

When she’s not juggling meetings (coffee always helps ☕), Nicola’s exploring the hidden gems of Australia. Driving through the Stirling Mountain Range was a standout experience, and the greenery and beaches of Denmark and Albany hold a special place in her heart 🌿. Next on her bucket list? Visiting Uluru and swimming with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef 🐋.

Nicola’s perfect day? A combination of snorkelling, camping, and good company – always fuelled by pizza 🍕 (though she’s definitely not a fan of Vegemite – sorry, Australia! 😅).

Growing up in Liverpool, Nicola was obsessed with Steve Irwin’s Crocodile Hunter, a fascination that inspired her to explore the country’s incredible wildlife 🐊. Now, Christmas is spent with friends at the beach 🏖️ – a far cry from the family gatherings back home 🎄.

Nicola’s top three Aussie bucket list experiences? 1️⃣ Swimming with whale sharks in Ningaloo Reef 2️⃣ Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef 🐠 3️⃣ Skydiving over Rottnest Island 🪂

From Harry Potter marathons on rainy days ⚡ to walking among the stunning Jacaranda trees in Subiaco during spring 🌸, Nicola embodies a love for adventure and new experiences. And while she misses her close-knit family (her nieces and nephew always keep her laughing from afar ❤️), she’s building her own story here in Australia.

We’re so lucky to have Nicola on the TXA team – bringing warmth, dedication, and a touch of Liverpool charm wherever she goes!

🚂Today is International Volunteers Day so we are celebrating the work of Atherton-Herberton Historic Railway Inc. 🌍

At TXA, we’re proud to support amazing suppliers like Atherton-Herberton Historic Railway Inc., a not-for-profit organisation bringing Far North Queensland’s railway history to life. This dedicated group is more than just a tourist attraction—it’s a testament to the power of community and the passion of volunteers.

Without their incredible volunteers, the AHHR wouldn’t be able to offer the unique, authentic experiences that make them such a beloved part of the region. From restoring historic carriages and locomotives to providing unforgettable train rides, their team is the driving force behind it all.

💡 The Magic Behind the Tracks:
✅ Volunteers play key roles as train drivers, guards, and carriage attendants.
✅ Restoration work breathes new life into historic railway equipment, preserving it for future generations.
✅ Every volunteer is supported with hands-on training, no prior experience needed—just a passion for making a difference!

This International Volunteers Day, we celebrate the dedication, skills, and heart of the AHHR team. Their work not only preserves an important piece of history but also enriches the tourism experience in Far North Queensland.

👏 A big thank you to all the volunteers who make it possible—you are truly the backbone of this incredible organisation!

Drone photography and videography can give your audience a whole new perspective on what you offer. Follow these steps to create stunning aerial content that will captivate potential visitors.

🎥 Choose the Right Drone for Quality Imagery:
Camera Quality: Look for 4K resolution for clear video and high-quality stills.

Flight Time: Choose a drone with at least 20–30 minutes of flight time per battery to get enough footage.

Stabilisation: A 3-axis gimbal is essential to keep footage steady, even in windy conditions.

Range: Make sure the drone’s range covers the area you want to capture. Consider options like the DJI Mini 2, DJI Mavic Air 2, or DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

👮 Understand Drone Regulations

Check your state’s aviation and local government regulations on drone use. Many areas have rules about no-fly zones (like airports or national parks), night flying, and altitude limits.

Use apps like Airmap or DJI Fly to confirm no-fly zones and stay updated with regulations.

🗺️Plan Your Location & Timing

Scout Locations: Look for areas with unique features that will stand out from above, such as scenic landscapes, historic landmarks, or coastal views.

Check the Weather: Wind and rain can impact flight safety and image quality, so aim for calm conditions.

Golden Hour: Shooting around sunrise or sunset provides soft, warm lighting that enhances the natural beauty of your shots.

Did you know Tourism Exchange Australia was inspired by surf trips and a passion for travel? 🌊

In the early 90s, our founders Shane Crockett and Stephen Wells would head to their favourite surf spots, where their conversations often drifted to the travel industry’s potential. They imagined a world where booking unique, off-the-beaten-path accommodations could be done as easily as catching the perfect wave. 🌊

Inspired by early tech icons like Amazon and PayPal, Shane and Stephen envisioned a platform that could bring small and medium tourism businesses the same online booking power as the big guys! 🏄‍♂️ They set out to create a way for travellers to book unique experiences and hidden gems online, in real time.

And that’s how TXA was born—a game-changer for small travel businesses looking to expand their reach and boost their bookings! 💻✨

Want to find out how TXA can help your business? Head to our website for all the details!

23/10/2024

🎥 You don’t have to be Steven Spielberg to create amazing video content for your tourism business. It’s simpler than you think – and it doesn’t break the bank! Here are 5 key tools to get started:

📱 Camera: Use your smartphone (1080p or 4K), or if you want to go pro, invest in a DSLR/mirrorless camera – both options work great 🙌

📸 Tripod or Stabiliser: For steady, smooth shots that look super professional, grab a stabiliser or tripod for under $100.

🎙️ External Microphone: Sound quality matters. A Lavalier or shotgun mic will make your audio crisp and clear – especially if you’re narrating or interviewing.

☀️ Natural light is your best friend (and it’s free!) But, for indoor shots, a portable LED ring light can do wonders without breaking the bank.

🎬 Editing Software: iMovie or Adobe Premiere Rush are great for beginners to turn raw footage into something magical!

Time to introduce another one of TXA’s superstars—Randy Harsana. As a Product Expert in the Customer Squad, Randy’s been helping our team deliver top-notch results for the past 7 years. So, let’s get to know him a little better! 👇

👨‍👩‍👦 He’s got a lovely wife, a 9-year-old son, and a corgi who has mastered the art of giving judgemental side-eye!

🛠 What does he love about the job? The super collaborative environment at TXA. He thrives on working together to find the best solutions for our Territory Partners and their customers.

😅 The most stressful part? Dealing with last-minute client changes when a project’s about to wrap up. We all know that feeling, right?

🌌 Randy’s hidden gem in Australia? Watching the magical Aurora Australis from Perth—he says the ribbons of colour dancing across the night sky are breathtaking. And just a short hop away, he’s got a soft spot for the adorable quokkas on Rottnest Island!

🌅 Best sunset? Randy fondly remembers sipping a cocktail on a rooftop in Bali, the ocean breeze in his hair, watching the sun melt into the sea—a well-deserved end to a long workday.

🦘 His bucket-list destination? Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. He’s keen to explore its cultural and natural significance one day.

🍴 Randy’s all about Tongseng, an Indonesian meat stew with delicious flavours.

When it comes to motivation, Randy draws his drive from seeing how hard his parents worked to give him and his sisters the best opportunities. It’s this commitment that fuels his dedication to his family and work.
