Discover the ancient waves of 🌊

The Wheatbelt is home to some of Western Australia's most incredible and ancient rock formations 🪨✨ Wave Rock, located in the quaint town of Hyden, is just one of the impressive formations that call the home.

Gaze up at the 15-metre giant, and admire the multicolour granite take form as if it was crashing to the bush below. Take a bush walk around the rock and see native flowers and birds. Come September, Wave Rock also plays host to the popular music festival, Wave Rock Weekender.

Off the beaten track and tucked away in the rugged outback lies the town of ✨

Sitting between Mt Magnet and Leinster, this quaint town is home to the iconic London Bridge - a stunning 800-metre-long formation dating back 350 million years!

This ancient landscape offers stunning views and a peek into geological history, its narrow form sculpted by the natural erosive forces. Watch as the sunset paints a vibrant canvas through its narrow arches, or stargaze under the pristine night skies like @‌cjmaddock.

To preserve its beauty and prevent further erosion, we kindly ask visitors to refrain from climbing the rock formation and instead capture images from ground level.

Uncover the fascinating story behind 's Railway Dam!💧

Journey back to 1893 and marvel at this incredible engineering feat designed to collect water from the rocky heights of Merredin Peak. Stroll along the scenic 2.25km trail for stunning views and a closer look at this historic gem.

Crafted from the very rock of the Peak, the dam originally served the railway. A stone contour wall and a 100m stone-lined channel captures rainfall runoff, directing 45 million litres annually into the dam. Today, this precious water nurtures Merredin's lush parks and gardens 🌿

Peak hour traffic in the 🚦

Wave goodbye to bumper-to-bumper traffic and say hello to open roads filled with adventure. Discover the stunning landscape of , dominated by a vast sandstone plateau that's 12-25 km wide and about 75 km long. These rocks were formed beneath an ancient sea, and if you’re lucky, you might spot fossils of marine creatures embedded in the exposed rock.

Pack the car for spring and watch the park burst into wildflower bloom, creating a colorful contrast against the red earth landscape.

Snag the best seat in the house and camp beneath the stars at Temple Gorge Campground. The dark night skies are perfect for stargazing, making the vast plateau seem small against the infinite expanse of space 🌌

Located just under four hours from Perth, in the charming town of , lies the largest swell in the outback.

Roam the 15-metre-high multi-coloured granite cliff, and uncover ancient rock paintings. Marvel at the effects of over 2.7 billion years of wind and rainwater erosion that have created this towering 110-metre-long break 🌊

Sneak peek of the upcoming wildflower season!🌸

We know it may be the beginning of July, but we're already buzzing with excitement for what this wildflower season brings. From July to October Western Australia's Golden Outback transforms with a tapestry of vibrant wildflowers.

We've been hearing amazing reports of wildflower sightings across the region. At Peace Gorge in Meekatharra, red Eremophilas and purple Mulla Mulla with their smokey grey foliage are in full bloom. Along the route from Leonora to Lake Ballard, beautiful patches of pink everlastings are making an appearance. Significant rainfall in the Gascoyne-Murchison region, places like Wooleen Station have sprung to life with a lush carpet of greenery🌿

Big Bell might be known as a ghost town, but it’s also home to some bang-up-to-date artwork thanks to Ian Mutch! This outback town near Cue was once a hive of activity when the Big Bell Mine was in operation in the early 1900s. Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail

The Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail celebrates one of the world's greatest engineering marvels - a pipeline built 100 years ago to carry water from Mundaring Weir just outside Perth to the remote and semi-arid Goldfields and Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The 560km trail leads you from the mind-blowing buzz of one of the largest open-cut gold mines on earth, the Super Pit, to the striking beauty of the 51 steel sculptures on Lake Ballard. You’ll find outback pubs oozing with character, perfect for enjoying a bite and a cold drink. There are a number of beautiful nature reserves and campsites, including the manmade lake, Niagara Dam.
