Open garden at Thirlmere this weekend
This weekend, October 21 and October 22 the Rotary Club of Picton is bringing back its popular Open Garden event and visitors can view the award winning Antonio garden at Thirlmere.
It’s just one garden this year; the club has already booked in several gardens for the 2024 program.
The garden of Anna and Michael Antonio at 30 Denmead St, Thirlmere will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
President of Picton Rotary, Terry Lillie, is delighted to see a partnership emerging between the Wollondilly Garden Club, Picton Harmony, Wollondilly Arts Group and Balmoral Friends group.
“Picton Rotary loves to team up in our fundraising projects and this one is no different,” Mr Lillie said
“You will a enjoy tour and talks by Anna who is a gardening expert, member of the Wollondilly Garden Club and winner of Wollondilly Council’s Garden Competition in 2021.”
As well as the garden there will be many local artists and artisans from Wollondilly Arts Group (WAG) and Balmoral Friends Group which will be exhibiting and selling works on site.
Picton Harmony and The Carefree singers will also be entertaining visitors at 11am and 1.30 pm.
Enjoy morning and afternoon tea with traditional Greek biscuits that will also be available for purchase.
Imagine it a beautiful spring garden, lovely music, art all around you and a coffee in hand – it’s a good way to enjoy a few hours.
This is a family friendly event, so take along the kids along. It’s $5 per person and children get in for free.
Profits raised will go to Dementia Research.
