The Gable Clerestory house project was “borne of our intention to minimally extend an existing heritage Queen Anne period dwelling to suit a growing family, and attempt to capture daylight in a land-locked heritage site,” says Elodie Lim, co-founder of .

Their approach to the interior was very much guided by the client’s adoration of colour and mid-century architecture. “The colour and richness of Fibonacci’s Act Three terrazzo stone initially drew our attention, then when we combined it with the selected paint colour for the cabinetry in the kitchen. We were ecstatic how well it captured the essence of the Queen Anne period original red brick.”

Step inside , and all pre-conceived notions of a traditional tea house are turned completely upside down, with angular, rock-like structures extending from the ceiling, and dark grey, charcoal and black hues throughout lit with dramatic lighting.

When it came to specifying the flooring, Fibonacci provided a wealth of choice. “Terrazzo was always an option as we wanted a natural looking finish for the floor and the stairs. We also required something that looked quite busy, and the detail in the tile handles the wear and mess extremely well,” says Lucienne Hemingway, Owner and Creative Director at .

Encompassing a gentle, reassuring palette with an ethereal quality, Q Dermatology envisaged a space for its clients that felt instantly welcoming, looked clean but not clinically cold, and most importantly, put their valued patients at ease. And naturally, it would need to be incredibly beautiful. Fibonacci products Flannel Flower and Wintersun, from the Intuit range, were the perfect foundation for this elegant design, both having a gentle, reassuring palette, providing both warmth and contrast.
