Sad that the dingo paid for a human mistake. All the people who are saying we need to feed them because their starving are just wrong ☹️

I’m sure you gave all seen the stories lately about our beautiful dingoes. The resort is very safe and has a dingo fence around it so they can’t get in. Everywhere else on the island you must follow the suggestions/rules on signage to ensure you and your family are safe. It’s not rocket science.

Rangers say a woman has suffered bites to the lower half of her body after dingoes followed her into the water while she was running along a beach at K'gari (Fraser Island).

Wow it’s been there awhile

Happy Maheno Day!! At 2pm, 88 years ago today, the Maheno bumped ashore and came to rest in the exact position she lays today. As I've personally watched her deteriorate over the last 30 years, almost mourning each piece that has crumbed into the sand between visits, what is left standing today is a testament to her Scottish builder, and the quality of the steel from which she was constructed.
After 88 cyclone seasons,
the best efforts of the Fraser Comando school and Air force,
Hundreds of thousands of souvenir hunting visitors.....
Maheno still stands , her graceful line still evident, upright and proud. Filled up and held snug within the ancient sands of K'Gari, Maheno's bones will be a curiosity for future generations, although probably not so much above the beach, but below it......
but for today, fad- shaoghalach Maheno! ( Scottish Galic for Long Live Maheno).

They might have changed the name officially but I’ve been going here since I was a child so it will always be Fraser Island to me. What does everyone else think ? It’s a beautiful place regardless.
