Liku Liku is a sister property located just around the corner from Malolo resort. Situated on a private beach and well protected from the prevailing winds,this beautiful resort is a haven of relaxation for those looking for an adults only resort. Again we are greeted with a warm welcome, always a beautiful song to set you in the mood for feeling happy to be alive and glad to be in Fiji! Accommodation is either beach bures or overwater bures. Again plenty of activities for the more active minded or just doing very little is easy too.

Malolo island resort
You can hike up to Jona’s lookout for a fantastic view. This helped to wear off all the delicious food we had been eating. We opted for the meal plan which included all meals with a choice of 3 restaurants. Compliments to the hard working chefs and wait staff. You do an amazing job and a lot of the vegetables and fruits and herbs are locally grown.

Malolo island resort has a very intimate feel which suits family get togethers, friendship groups,families and couples. The kids club caters very well for both younger and older children. There is a kids friendly pool area as well as a quieter adult only pool. Loads of activities to choose from. We did an early morning fishing trip and snorkeled every day. You can visit neighbouring islands by kayak or boat and also visit the local village. And then there is the option of doing absolutely nothing and lounge about on the hammocks or visit the spa!

After the excitement of Hubbard Glacier we enjoyed the hospitality and entertainment on board Seven Seas Explorer. There is so much on offer in this all inclusive experience when sailing with Regent Seven Seas. There are 7 restaurants that cater for all food tastes and styles. There are 3 specialty restaurants and we tried Pacific Rim with its Asian inspired menu. Stunning food only surpassed by the level of service. Pre dinner was cocktails with the Captain and executive team and post dinner a fabulous floor show.

Sailed from Seward towards Glacier country. The weather was exceptional that afternoon. Another vessel wasn’t able to enter the sound and see the glacier due to fog in the morning. Our ship entered on a clear sunny afternoon with mirror seas. The only impediment to going further up the sound was the presence of pack ice close to Hubbard Glacier. We passed sea lions basking on chunks of ice which are called growlers. What fun to see.

The Regent Seven Seas Explorer is a relatively new cruise ship with a cabin capacity of around 732 passengers. Our cabin is spacious and includes a full size bathroom with a bath and separate shower, double sinks along with a good sized walk in wardrobe. This is a wonderful suite with plenty of room and a generous balcony .

After a stunningly beautiful drive from Anchorage to Seward the impressive Seven Seas Explorer is waiting at Seward harbour for us to commence our cruise as guests of Regent Seven Seas. We will be cruising through the Alaskan Glacial region to Canada.
