Darlington Community Markets and Cystic Fibrosis Queensland Fundraiser September 15th 2019

Cute as a button, totally unique and with live music, great food and coffee, your day is complete! Your favourite country market gets quacking Sunday September 15th!

Darlington Community Market is being held Sunday September 15th. The setting is the picturesque Darlington State School in the Lost World Valley - Nestled at the foothills of the Border Ranges and Lamington National Park. There could not be a better place to introduce the family to a genuine Country experience and enjoy the markets that have become an anticipated event in their own right.

The markets hold the theme of home grown, homemade, handmade, local, organic and fair trade. The quality on offer is assured and the opportunity to find something truly unique is genuine.

The Day includes live music from band “Griffin County”, mouth watering food from award winning Watty Woo and their Low N Slow American BBQ, old fashioned Country Games and Novelty Races, baby animal petting zoo, face painting and of course our Famous Darlington Duck Race!

Take time out with the family and experience a wide armed country welcome in Darlington on September 15th. You will be helping us to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland and go home with some great family memories and that little something from the markets you know won’t be found somewhere else. We guarantee it won't be your last visit!

Not to be Missed!

We have been busy behind the scenes and are now happy to announce that our markets on the 16th September will be raising money for .

Entry is still free!

We have plenty of entertainment including live music by and now 2 Hancock Horsemanship Liberty Demonstrations by from 10am and 1pm.

So why not join us for some good old country hospitality, market stalls, enjoy delicious food from our Vintage Cafe including our Scenic Rim Tasting plate featuring delicious cheeses, cold meat and other goodies sourced from our beautiful .

Also on offer during the day will be craft beer from and local wine from .

Keep the kids busy with our activities espeically for the kids - jumping castle, face painting, farm animal petting zoo and pony rides or just relax and unwind on the banks of the Albert River.

Entry is free....but remember there is no eftpos/atm facilities available onsite so please ensure you have plenty of cash.

Saturday evening at Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm was a carnivore's delight. The Nose to Tail feast was attended by 50 enthusiastic foodies who were treated to a generous feast prepared by executive chef Daniel Groneberg and his sous chef Glen Edwards.

All of the meat was local and sourced through The Butcher Co Boonah & Kalbar. And there were plenty of local veggies on offer too. All washed down with Kooroomba's own wine.

What a gorgeous day it was at Tommerup's Dairy Farm for the Wild Canary Long Table Lunch. Executive Chef Glen Barratt and his team made our local produce shine, and guests came from near and far to celebrate the magnificent food and drinks we produce right here in the Scenic Rim, and meet the people who grow and make our food. Winter is a beautiful time of year to visit the Scenic Rim. Crisp mornings give way to clear blue skies and warm days before starry evenings make the perfect backdrop for warming fires - best enjoyed with local wine and cheese of course!

Eat Local Volume 2 officially launches on 1 May, but we couldn't help but give you all a sneak peek. 👀

This beautiful book co-authored by Brenda Fawdon and Christine Sharp celebrates the farmers, growers and makers of the Visit Scenic Rim with over sixty everyday recipes using wholesome ingredients, and stunning imagery. 📚

Following on from Volume 1, Brenda and Christine continued their journey through the diversely beautiful Scenic Rim and the book documents the authors' candid conversations with another 26 producers and their families. 👨🏻‍🌾👩🏼‍🌾
The book will be available for purchase from eatlocalweek.com.au and throughout the Scenic Rim and other selected bookstores.

There's also a number of events coming up before and during Scenic Rim Eat Local Week where you can meet the authors and have your very own copy signed.
