A huge thank you to all who came onboard for the triple salvage and disposal of the vessels that caught fire at Holmeport Marina.

A special shout out to , Dave at Broken Bay Divers The team at , Road Work Solutions and

Amongst the usage of other pollution prevention equipment we created a controlled environment around the vessels using 100m of containment fence boom giving the ability to remove all of the flotsam and debris without pollution entering the bay. The clean up took several hands and days but we succeeded with minimal impact to the environment.

Everyone involved played a vital role and the joint effort resulted in the successful extraction of the vessels from the water and transportation to the tip.

* 12 x 8m non-propelled crane barge
* 10 x 3m high speed barge
* 12m towing vessel

* 4X4 Unimog crane truck

The successful candidate :

* Coxswain, Deckhand or GPH qualifications
* Some previous relevant work experience
* The ability to listen and follow instruction
* A self starter with initiative and urgency when required
* Occasional weekend work
* Driver license with clean record

It’s been a big 6 weeks working with and to keep the power on at Mackerel Beach after the submarine cable was damaged cutting off power.

We barged and trucked two generators over where they were craned off and we have been refueling the generators daily with the barge, a trailer carrying a fuel pod and Bob our skid steer loader.

Big shout out to Navace - On Site Refueling for always being on time any day of the week.

We celebrate with all of you, the disposal of our 100th vessel and would like to give a special shout out to Stuart @ Boats By Road, Jacob @ Northern Beaches Truck and Crane & the Q Service Team The Quays Marina who have made it all possible. We couldn’t do it as efficiently without their professional expertise.

When Brent and I started Broken Bay Barges in 2018 we wanted to clean up the waterways of derelict vessels that cause navigational hazards, pollution and also make it impossible for new, active boat owners to enjoy the waterways as they sit on wait lists years long while bays are choking with vessels that never leave the mooring sometimes for tens of years.
