Day 241 ! And over the SA border and into Ceduna, what a great little seaside spot although pretty windy! Felt like the flying nun.
In terms of the amenities, one of the best caravan parks we have stayed in.
If you are coming this way, come for the OysterFest in October! Ceduna is known to be the oysters capital of Australia.
We watched the 'Tyson Exhibition!' fight at the local pub and enjoyed the company of some truckies. Great blokes!
After 2 days, we headed to
Streaky Bay and stayed in an RV Rest Stop.
Pristine waters again ! And we did 2 coastal scenic drives, note - majority are on unsealed roads, and this is not communicated on line /print.
The drives showed us the rugged coast line, sea lions habitat, which is the biggest in Australia, played in the white sand dunes, and visited a number of beaches and lookouts.
You love fishing, you will love these places and oysters are $10 a dozen!
These 2 seaside towns are also part of the Australia Bight, truely stunning cliff faces and full of history.
You must only leave 👣 footprints.
We enjoyed our time, check out the pics 📸 and we now head off to Port Augusta SA.

A beautiful day on the SA coast, and captured sea lions having a lazy day !
The Nullabor..
Before we hit the road and a big few days ahead of us, the checklist - extra petrol (although longest between stops is 191km but just incase) and plenty of water and food ✅️
Oops & Alcohol refreshments....✅️
The flies do not know anything about personal space & boundaries! They enter every facial orifice.
We hit the red dust again on route to Norseman WA.
A Gold mining town and has the world's longest golf course.
Apparently, an unbelievable 1,365 kilometres long, with a hole at each town or roadhouse along the way, spread across two states and two time zones, it starts at Kalgoorie. @NathanBaker here is a challenge for you!
Stopped for lunch ...hung a right turn- onto Eyre Highway and on to the Nullabor. The longest, straightest, flattest road in Australia.
3 days before we hit South Australia. It's part of the Great Australia Bight.
Did you know Nullabor means no trees in Latin ! Although plenty of scrub & bushes. A Rugged coastline, white sand dunes and plenty of freight trucks.
Over night we camped in Newman's Rocks camp site, Craig enjoyed his fire and singing to the stars!
*Day 2 On the road and a stop at Balladonia Roadhouse, took a snap of the US Skylab space station parts that fell in this location.
Camped at Moondini Bluff Camp Ground.
RFDS takes over parts of the road for emergency landing strips too.
There is 90 mile road ( a stretch of road that is completely straight. ) Signs mark the beginning and end.
*Day 3 We then headed across the SA border. Ditched the fruit & veg although the station was not manned. The checkpoint was just before Ceduna. Checked out the Great Aust Bight - coastline. Spotted a 4WD smashed up and rolled on its roof, it brought us back to reality.
We went through 2 time zones and it plays with your body clock.
The famous Bunda Cliffs were closed due to severe erosion. The Bight was a spectacular scenery.
Camped over night, Kidnippy Road Stop, far west Coast of South Australia.
The roads are real
We packed up our tin can day 233, booked the car windscreen in to be replaced and headed to Esperence WA - Located SE of Perth.
Esperence & The Fitzgerald coast is part of the Golden Outback, wheat belt. Miles of wheat farms. We stayed In a park near the Port. Watched the ships come in and fill up with grain.
Esperence beauty is mesmerising, breath taking coastal scenery.
Esperence has it all, - National parks, stunning beaches, wild flowers bloom all year round and animals.
A quick recap of our time -
# The town is was named after a French ship, the “Espérance”. There is also plenty to do in the natural wonders of Cape Le Grand, Wharton Bay & The Great Ocean Drive, a 40km loop with exquisite coastline, beaches, lookouts and includes the Pink Lake (no longer a pink lake!)
# The most spectacular landscapes in Western Australia. It includes over 500km of coastline and spectacular cliffs of the Great Australian Bight. The ocean is bright turquoise, a blue so pure it looks manufactured. Check out the pics!
# Over 100 islands off the coast, called The Recherche Archipelago, It's like they are sitting there watching over the main island.
# We checked out Twilight Beach with it's iconic ‘rock with a hole’, Fellow caravanners threw a line in at the town jetty and caught squid. Hinted for a dinner invite, no luck.
# A day trip to Cape Le Grand National Park, the Costal Trail includes- Lucky Bay, Hellfire Bay, Thistle Cove. Lucky bay is famous for kangaroos on the beach and voted in 2023 World's best beach. The sand is so fine and squeaks underfoot. Too hard to play volley ball on, when it's wet, it's like concrete.
If you planning to camp at Cape La Grand and so worth it, book in advance to save tears!
# Our favourite beach has to be Lucky Bay and Wharton Beach, which is located 90km E of Esperance.
# We visited the historical buildings that are part of the Museum Village and stopped at the Lucky Bay Brewery, there is so much to see and do.

Bremer Bay ! Another stunning beach...

A few days in Albany WA, it is part of the Great Southern region. It is the last place our Australian soldiers sighted before heading off to the fateful battleground of World War 1, and the ANZAC battles. Also known as the place the first dawn service was held on ANZAC day.
In addition to this rich history, Albany WA also has a wealth of pristine beaches, extrodinary Cliff faces and balancing granite rocks. We got the opportunity to stand under a wind turbine, and the sounds it makes were amazing.
The most popular attractions are The Gap and Natural Bridge, in Torndirrup National Park, unfortunately it was closed.
We did visit Dog Rock in town, Museum, Anzac memorial and Misery Beach but definitely not a miserable place. A hike to the blow holes, unfortunately a non-event.
We were teased by the Albany oysters, apparently amazing but only available in summer time ! Another non event!
Albany known for great fishing and wineries. We spoke to a few men fishing, they can sure cast a line! If you love fishing this is the spot.
We stayed in a great caravan park in Emu Beach, right on the beach, really relaxing !
This town is like a big history book.
Enjoy our snaps ! 📸

Busselton is a busy town on the WA coast and we stayed on the 'Holy Mile,' it gets its name as a number of seaside camp grounds are owned by various church groups. $32 per night and it was fantastic. No drinking or smoking (sure ! to the drinking part, especially so close to Margaret River). We had excellent park managers. Everything was so well maintained.
The jetty is 1.8km long with a marine park. It is the longest in the southern hemisphere. The weather has not been kind to us.
Margaret River was impressive, a quaint town, and a lovely drive through the country side. Over 200 wineries. So green and lush with colourful spring flowers on the side of the road.
We managed 6 wineries, our favs are Voyager Wines due to the stunning gardens and Swings & Rounabouts.
We did a day trip and stopped at Ngilgi Caves. Limestone caves, very tight stairways & chambers- 39 metres deep. Formations of stalactites and stalagmites of extraordinary length and size. Pretty impressive! Let the pics tell the story for this one.
The highlight for this stop was the whale watching tour out of Dunsborough. To see the mother humpback whales and calves playing in the water and a calf breached, it was pretty special. The season will be over soon and we were lucky to see some 🐋 whales.
On our journey we had to buy another battery for the car fridge. That's battery no 4 and we shuffled the tyres around on the van.
If anyone needs tyres for your van or 4WD, we have a great contact in Thomastown. Exceptional value for big muddies or all terrains.
Check out our pics 📸...
Enjoying our time in WA.

Two days in 80 Mile beach WA, South Kimberley region.
Despite it's name, its actually 140 miles not 80 miles??? 🤷♀️ Lots of gorgeous shells. I got a handful for my collection. Not much to do here, if your not into fishing and bird watching, its time to just chill out.
As we drive into the Pilbara region, the red desert sand and endless blue sky's, just captivates us. The hottest day, reaching over 40 degrees and we did not cope well with no pool.
The Park advised against swimming in the pristine beach due to sea snakes, sharks and stingrays that come into the shallows.
Someone stepped on a ray in the shallow and a barb went through their foot. Again, the sunsets each night did not disappoint.
We moved onto Port Hedland, the mines and trucks are plotted throughout the landcape,
Port Hedland is a mining town - iron ore, salt, manganese, Lithium, and more 40 degree days.
The trains can be over 7 kilometres long. Lucky there is no level crossings.
Awesome to see my Bretty Boy, Shona and Angus and the legend Steve Davy. Thank you for making time to catch up. Feeling very loved.
Day 166, we stopped two days in Dampier, where the red dog movies were made. One of the sunniest places in Australia, 3,700 hours of sunshine.
Second largest bulk port in the world behind Port Hedland. Great Father's Day event at the local park and frozen cocktails at the yatch club were delish!
Enjoy our pics 📸 and check out how beautiful our country is.

Four days on the road free camping, driving over 1,000 kms as we make our way to Broome.
The hightlights were - greeted by cows at Mary Pool and James Price Point Campground wbich was stunning. Camped on a cliff face watching over the beach. Million dollar views but the risk of getting there was worth it. Over 35kms of corrugated, red dirt and soft sand.
Lisa battered and bruised by falling out of the van ! Sober... definitely did not bounce.
