On March 26, 2022, Sound of Music Multicultural Concert, hosted by Sound of Music Coast Melody Chorus of Gold Coast and solely sponsored by Sea&City Group, was successfully held in Nerang Bicentennial Community Centre.
At the invitation of Mr. Michael Chen, Chairman of the Gold Coast Chinese Party Branch of the Australian Liberal National Party, three-level dignitaries from the federal government, the state government and the Gold Coast City government attended the event to congratulate the event and greet the neighbors of the Chinese community.
The Old Beijing Qiangqiang Art Troupe, Kunlun Art Troupe, Little Candlelight Choir, Queensland Dance Academy and The Blenders, a Ca****la Choir of Gold Coast, they all presented wonderful performances to the audience.
The Old Beijing Qiangqiang Art Troupe performed on the stage first a string of classic songs for the audience, followed by the performing artist Guo Jinhua, who presented the national treasure skill of Sichuan Opera face changing.
The highlight of the evening was a series of choral performances by the Sound of Music Coast Melody Chorus, including Those Were the Days, Happy Nadam, Song of Marino, Swallow, Edelweiss, Red River Valley, Beautiful Prairie My Home, The Heavenly Road, Youth Waltz and Love my China. Familiar melodies started to play, leading the audience to wander in a sea of musical notes and arousing countless beautiful memories.
The Sound of Music Coastal Melody Choir is the fastest growing folk art group on the Gold Coast. It brings together a group of vocal music lovers who love singing and keep improving. The conductor Bao Guoqing is a well-known singer and conductor in Inner Mongolia of China.
Then Kunlun Art Troupe performed the dance Alley Deep, Linda Ling presented the female solo Pamir, How Beautiful My Hometown is, and the Little Candlelight Choir performed the choral Panis Angelicus, Sing Sing So, I Still Call Australia Home, Yaoshan Night Song, Plum Blossoms in the Snow, and Ode to Joy.
Angela Chen, President of the Queensland Dance Academy, performed the Mongolian dance Hometown which she choreographed and directed. The Queensland Dance Academy is a professional dance education institution founded by Miss Angela, a Chinese dancer in Australia. She once participated in the compilation of teaching materials of Chinese ethnic and folk dance in the Undergraduate Department of Beijing Dance Academy.
Towards the end of the evening party, the Blenders sang unaccompanied English songs, leaving the audience with music lingered in the air long after the performance.
This event is sponsored solely by Sea&City Group and also supported by many travel groups in Australia. At the scene, we brought rich gifts for the audience, and the atmosphere of the lucky draw is very warm.
The great success of the Sound of Music Multicultural Festival is inseparable from the dedication of all the actors and staff. In the current epidemic situation, I believe that these wonderful songs and wonderful dances will give people infinite spirit strength and confidence to look forward to a better life together.
