A trip down memory lane!
Birdsville, we’ll be seeing you x

Birdsville is a small town located in the Channel Country of Central West Queensland, Australia. It is 1590 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane, and 720 kilometres south of the city of Mount Isa. Birdsville is on the edge of the Simpson Desert, and the climate is very arid. At the 2011 census, Birdsville had a population of 283. Birdsville was known as Diamantina Crossing from 1881.Later the name Birdsville was adopted believing to be on account of the prolific bird life in the district. Proclaimed a town in 1887, Birdsville was located at the border of South Australia and Queensland to collect tolls from the droves of cattle being moved interstate.
The Wangkangurru and the Yarluyandi Indigenous Australian peoples were the original inhabitants of this country.

COVID-19

As the founder of ROKstar Tours and in light of the current pandemic, I wanted to touch base with you all.
I am aware that these are trying times but rest assured, we have put many precautionary measures in place and are working with our partners and on the advice of professionals.
I am also confident that travelling to remote destinations and in the privacy and comfort of our own aircraft we are MINIMISING the risk of infection.
All of our aircraft will be cleaned and disinfected between flights in accordance with IATA Preventing the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Guidelines for Airlines (2nd Version).

Furthermore, I believe this to be the perfect time to visit outback Australia; through fire, drought and flooding rains there has never been a better time to invest in our country and it's people!

All of our scheduled tours are to proceed as planned.

I look forward to you joining us and sharing with you this vast and beautiful land of ours; Australia.
