To our valued clients,
Itβs unprecedented times in the travel industry right now and with the current situation regarding the continuing spread of COVID19 (Coronavirus) through many countries around the world, airlines and cruise companies have been drastically reducing services to multiple destinations, even to countries not yet affected by the virus.
As a result, many of our customers who are already booked to depart or who are already overseas on holidays are experiencing travel disruptions resulting in an increased workload for our amazing staff, Kat, Iona and Katie and our valued suppliers to try to reaccommodate customers onto other flights/cruises/accommodation/coach tours.
Due to the urgency requiring us to attend to current bookings, our response time to many of your emails for booking requests, will be based on departure dates and most prominent travel warnings.
We would ask for your co-operation over this period and ask the following.
π If you are booked to travel beyond April, please be patient. According to the reports there is absolutely no rush to make a decision to cancel your holiday, at this point in time we are trying our best to assist people departing or who have already departed this month and next to at risk and/or affected destinations.
π Presently, as at 18th March - Tour companies, cruise lines and our valued suppliers including many airlines have suspended some of their operations until at least 30th April 2020 *
After that who knows
π If your travel is of purely domestic nature, there are absolutely no restrictions on travelling anywhere within Australia
π Please be aware that if you decide to cancel your holiday, interstate or overseas you may still face cancellation and/or amendment fees. Airfares that were purchased which were NON-REFUNDABLE at the time of purchase, remain non-refundable. The only exception to this may be for a country that is declared a no travel zone by the Australian Government. Individual airlines are examining their own networks and routes and may decide to offer a credit for future travel not necessarily a refund.
π If you intend to defer or amend bookings to other destinations currently not mentioned as do not travel destinations amendment fees are likely to still apply.
So we ask that you bear in mind that this is all very new and unprecedented for us and the Travel Industry as a whole. Things are not set in stone, and remain very fluid. We thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter during this period of heightened anxiety whilst we try to keep on top of everything coming through to us that demands our immediate attention.
We are all in this together and can assure you that we at Flight Centre Birkenhead Point have your best interests in mind and your health and happiness is of our primary concern.
