▫️Fixing rock fall using ground anchors and shotcrete in Cremorne.
▫️Not all retaining walls need to look pretty, they just need to be functional- these are our favourite❗️
This shotcrete wall was created 80cm thick to re-support the house foundations above which were undermined by rock fall caused by heavy rains.
The wall was anchored back to the cliff to prevent future instability.

🔵 “Over engineered” is an overused term. These retaining walls need to withstand huge rain events like yesterday.
Anything less is a gamble that may or may not pay off.

🔴 Here’s a recently completed shotcrete solution to a collapsed retaining wall with a very narrow corridor to work in.
A good balance between aesthetic, structural function and build-ability.

🟩 45m long boundary wall transformation successfully completed in Collaroy 😃

🟡 Geotech, structural and hydraulic engineers all came together to design this wall as part of a Council emergency works order.
RWC executed on the old wall removal and new construction.

🔸 Completed block retaining wall at St Paul’s College, Manly.
🔸 This wall had an emphasis on blocking and diverting ground water (of which there was plenty). Retaining walls can be a great tool to help control water flow and drainage 💦

▪️Besser block retaining wall replacement at St Paul’s College Manly is well underway with demolition of the old wall complete, and new footings already poured, and ready for blocks after Christmas 🎄

🏁 We’re all wrapped up for 2019! Last blocks laid, completing the first stage of retaining wall at Pittwater House School as part of the renovation work being undertaken there by Nest Renovations. 🏁 We’ll be back in early Jan to complete the remainder of this job before the new school term begins.
