Archbishop Anthony Fisher led a group of Sydney pilgrims in a Solemn Entry into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. It was an honour and a spectacle to behold! 🙌✝️🙏
The group was given this privilege because the Archbishop is the Grand Prior of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, an Order that was established in 1099 to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land. Today it supports and protects Christian sites and communities of the faithful in the Holy Land.

The Pilgrim Road waits for me to come
We've seen images from around the world that tell the story of this pandemic. Empty plazas, abandoned iconic sites; silent cities. During these uncertain times, perhaps now more than ever, the Lord still calls us to grow closer to His Heart. Soon, our feet will be able to return on the pilgrim road. As we dream of returning to Holy Sites, let us continue to walk the pilgrim road from our homes, praying especially for those affected physically, financially and emotionally by this pandemic. 🙏

There is something that stirs in the heart of each pilgrim; a quiet voice that tells us there is something more to this life and this world than what we experience through our senses. Pilgrimage gives us an opportunity to seek what our spirit longs for. It’s not just travel; it’s travel with purpose and faith that bears lasting fruit.
