As a proud short-stay host in Townsville, I'm grateful to ASTRA - Australian Short Term Rental Association for creating a community where we can gather, collaborate, and grow. This year's ASTRA Here to Stay Conference tackled big industry issues, from navigating new regulations and the cost of living, to sustainable hosting and the role of AI in guest communication.

This is a disruptive season for many of us, but together we are stronger. Excellent presentations from trail blazers: Alloggio Holidays , Hometime, Expedia, Guesty and Airbnb provided plenty of food for thought. This is our opportunity to provide solutions to the challenges rather than spend our energy fighting ‘against’ change.

I am thrilled to have attended the APAC Airbnb Leaders Summit held in Bangkok!

Leaders attended from Thailand, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Himalayas, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, representing 81 Host Clubs and 47,000 Airbnb members across the region.

The Summit was an incredible opportunity for Host Club Leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. It was fascinating to discover the shared challenges we face with emerging markets, alongside the unique hurdles specific to each region.

It was an unforgettable experience, and I loved meeting so many passionate and like-minded Airbnb leaders from around the world!
